Rumor has it that LA's finest were out in full force Sunday with three cars chasing all over the County after a motorcycle. Rumor also has it that the cycle never left town and was watching them chase everywhere for him.
Rumor also has it that one of LA's finest saw another cycle just going through town and chased after the slow moving cycle clear past the North end of town. I guess this GESTAPO can read newspapers where now the Supreme Court ruled that he can "HANDCUFF" any person stopped. Well, folks, we can now all be prepared to be "HANDCUFFED" and taken to he station for a 'BREATHALYZER" every time now.
Well, on this last stop, the officer lied about the person speeding, handcuffed him, falsely accused him of being drunk, took him to the police station "handcuffed", gave him the "breathalyzer" and found he wasn't drunk after all. I guess this GESTAPO didn't know how to tweak the machine after 3 tries like the other guy last week. This what the Mayor wants, Martini "pave my drive free" wants, The Weasel " no prayer here" wants, and MADD wants.
So, GESTAPO - are you going to tell your boss that the LAPD gets to hang the Christmas decorations up this year?? Now, go out and harass another volunteer that does free work for the City.
Well, folks. only about six more weeks until this comes to an end. The day the boat opens and the GESTAPO stops a gambler, this will all end.
And now the big rumor. It seems a couple of LA's finest don't like this way of doing business. It seems that they have been meeting and keeping notes to get rid of the chief. Good luck guys, see ya later.

Rumor has it that an enterprises officer of the law took it upon himself to go to a meth lab school and then wants the City to Pay. Sounds like he has been taking lessons from the Fire Chief. Go buy and give the City the bill. Rumor also has it that the Mayor knew nothing about the cute little drug dog ($5500) and is not a happy camper about it.
It looks like Powers snookered the North Ward Voters and is now laughing at their stupidity for voting for him. It also seems to come out that Griesbaum got Stiffy to run to keep our Harscher. Politics is such a nice game. You don't know who to trust anymore. And for those 184 voters, if you really thought the Mayor was serious about getting a City Administrator, you voted wrong.
Just remember Councilmen, it states that the Mayor makes his selection for the committees, but the Council has to approve them.

If you aren't finding any mushrooms, you haven't been mowing your lawn. Yesterday, I was mowing down over the hill. I was using a Ford 9N with a 5 foot mower behind. After about the second round, I looked down and saw mushrooms going under the tractor and before I could get stopped, the mower deck hit the first one and it went under and jammed the mower so bad, it took me an hour to get it all out. All kidding aside, I almost ran over 10 of them, but i was quick and got stopped so I could pick them. I never ever saw them grow in that area before.
Now, on a more serious nature. A soon to be past councilman must have thought that sense other people had hail damage, he could get a new roof too. Problem was, there wasn't any damage at all. The only thing an insurance adjuster gets more madd about someone trying to scam them is the dummy bad mouthing a friend of the adjuster. So his name goes into the scam pot.
Did any of you read such bullshit in your life in the letter to editor of the Press News written by Cathy Combs. It reminds me of all the bullshit she reported to the Division of Family Services. With all the glowing and petting and stroking she did in that article she shows that she doesn't know that the police was trying to figure out a way to arrest him.
AN EMAIL FROM A CONCERNED CITIZEN::
Subject:
Hiz Honner
Did you read the comment in the paper the mayor made about his concern
for Bunge's and Gardners due to flooding? Well and employee from each
facility yesterday stated that they hadn't even received so much as a
phone call from ANY city official. Maybe his help is going to be in the
form of free ice cream or the weenie wagon! Is it true that when the
police car crashed, the speeder they were chasing was Chief Baker in his
red truck?
Rumor has it that someone has a visitor staying with them from out of state that has an outstanding warrant.
Someone passed this picture to me and wanted everyone to see. His question was, Is the City hiring handicap police officers or is ok for them to break the law?? CLICK HERE
Rumor has it that the Fire Chief has provided a place for anyone to take their brush to be burned under "Professional" control. Here is a picture of the place already set up to burn brush. Click Here. It is located just a little ways west of the overpass.

Above the Law II
Last evening I had to deliver a computer out the gravel road west of the Fire Chiefs place. It was about 7:30pm and as I went a little ways west of his house and past a grove of trees, I happened to turn around only to see the Fire Chief building a large brush fire. Can you imagine what he would have done if he saw you building a large brush fire at that late in the evening??? Exactly what he did to a neighbor. It took me about a half hour to make the delivery and setup and when I came back by, the brush pile was still there and the fire was out and the chief was gone.
Rumor has it that the whole police department have been going over City ordinances trying to find a way to arrest someone for driving through the water on the street by the casino.
April 25, 2001
ABOVE THE LAW!
Rumor has that that LA's Finest feel that THEY are ABOVE THE LAW. The little red car owned by an officer was seen coming into town from the North, faster than anyone else is allowed to. It was also seen not even coming to a oozzing stop at the main stop light in town and turning up the hill without a hint of a turn signal, and then turning into City hall again without a turn signal. Where is one of those cops when you need one??
Rumor also has that it is not ok for a "civilian" to drive through 6 inches of water, when one of the finest can drive his 4x4 through water up to the door??? I guess being able to drive the new police cars through the water has to be fun too. One new police car was seen going around a block several times to drive through water . Even today when the State Highway department was closing the road, TWO police cars came through the water so fast, the whole car was wet. Just how much do new bearings and brakes cost on a new car?
The Mayor was just "tickled to death" and 184 people are beaming with proudness. And speaking of being so proud of their Mayor, they have to love the new sidewalk the Street super put in on North Main across from the used car lot of Kevin's. Everyone thought he was replacing the walk that was removed to replace the sewer line, but, he tricked us all. He put in a whole bunch of skate board ramps for the kids to use to jump. Well. that is the reason the walk goes up and down, isn't it?? And just when I take off the count of ALL those days off, the Super starts taking days and days and days off. Such a job. He has the dream job of any lazy ass. Put in less than 40 hours, work even less than half that, get paid for 44 hours every week, AND if he accidentally puts down that he put in over 40 hours of driving around time, he gets time off, paid for. Such a job. The Mayor is "tickled to death" to be able to have such an employee, and 184 voters vote him in again. That's over $2500 per year FREE!!!!!
And the big rumor is the reason Martini "pave my drive free" didn't run as he "in his own mind" believes he is the only one intelligent enough in the world to be City Manager. Let's see now, 8 years as head Councilman and Mayor Pro-tem. The street super still hasn't put in a good days work. He has depleted all the City reserves. He can't control the Police chief. The streets are half way done. So, after 8 years of being the "head" of the City, he couldn't do anything, he now thinks he can do it as City manager?? HAHAHAHAHA. ect.
April 24, 2001
I receive a lot of email detailing the activities of the City, City Hall, Street, Water, Police and Fire. Most of the emails are from citizens wanting to know how they "get away" with what "they" do, and to inform the Gossip page as to "guess what I saw them do last night". Ninety nine percent of the information put on this page is from people who want it put there and send the info to be put here. Almost everyone of these use their real name and email address. There are a whole lot of people watching the police and the city crew and fire chief, just waiting for them to do their thing to report it. Then there is the one percent who send me emails bitching about the gossip page. This one percent always use fictitious email addresses to try to hide their identity. It doesn't work, but I let them believe it does.
A lot of the emails question the legalities of the actions of the Fire Chief and police department and a couple of Councilmen. I won't say Martini and Weasel. I just say to wait until we get a new MORAL and ETHICAL council. Remember the old song "The night has a 1000 eyes"? Well, this town has every one of them. The term neighborhood watch goes well here too. Except, they are not watching for criminals, they are watching the City, and the police. Every one of their actions is being reported an documented and saved for future reference.
Remember the meeting with the gambling boat at the Lions Hall a few weeks back? Remember the figure 12000? Remember how the boat guy talked about how they count the gamblers? Using those quotations, can you come up with a ball park figure of how many actual people will be at the casino on the average hour? Send me an email with your estimate.
The History Channel did a damaging expose on gambling and gambling boats yesterday. Watch for it again.

WAS THE CITY ELECTION BOUGHT???
Rumor has it that the Mayor was eating some speeding tickets written right before the election, was it more than 20?? And then the rumor has it that people who came in on election day with overdue water bills were given a free ride. How many votes was that?? And emails keep asking about the difference in the votes for Councilmen and the votes for Mayor. They wonder who would vote for a Mayor and not a Councilman too??? Will there be a recount???
And the emails just keeps on coming. How about the lady driving down main street and came to some cars parked on her side of the street. According to the emailer, she edged over toward the center line, the cop saw her and chased her down.
And then there is the stop where the cop found that the driver had a previous DWI. SEE WHAT I MEANT BY GIVING THE LAPD THE MULES. ABUSE ABUSE ABUSE. It seemed to be a normal stop until the cop saw the dwi, then it turned ugly. Rumor has it that the driver was accused of driving while intoxicated now and was forced to take the breath job. But it is rumored that, after there blows and now reading, the cops readjusted the meter and presto, a reading. The rumor also hears that the person wasn't allowed to call an attorney, wasn't allowed to see any of the readings, and promptly delivered to Marion County Jail for 20 hours and again not allowed to make a phone call. There is more to this, but you get the drift.
When will the Mayor stand up and realize how his gestapo police force is killing the town.
ANOTHER EMAIL:
As a concerned citizen of LaGrange, I would like to
know why the police dept. has received new squad cars, new radios and
lights for the squad cars, schooling for special swat training, and all their
other little goodies....Lord only knows what they'll get next, perhaps an
electric ass wiper?!?!? As far as I'm concerned, there is only
one officer worth his wages, Shawn Hydorn. He seems to be the only one who is actually
concerned with the city and citizens of LaGrange, instead of all the political
B.S. One area of concern that more LaGrange citizens should be giving some serious thought to is the fire dept. Ask anyone who has
ever gone through a fire and lost everything, it is devastating. Now, shouldn't
we be a little more worried about whether or not our fire dept. will be able to
put out these fires, due to lack of equipment? Where is the money that they were
told they would get when the police dept got theirs? Look at all the new police
dept equipment that has already been purchased, I'm going to assume that they
have received their money. I have heard from what you call the
"rumor mill" that the money is available, so WHY has a check not been cut? These are time
sensitive pieces of equipment....I'm assuming that no one important enough (in
the city councils eye's) has lost their home to fire. How would they feel if it
was their home? Maybe they could call the police dept and see how well the new
lights will extinguish the fire. The things needed and promised, to my
understanding, are as follows: an image camera, a computer for 911 & training aids (videos), these are all vital
pieces of equipment in ensuring the ability of the firemen. This needs to be
figured out and taken care of as soon as possible, time in this matter is
definitely an issue. Oh, and let's add a little glitch, this wonderful casino,
that has brought about all of this promised money....it' s due to open June 1st.
Do you suppose the fire dept. will have their money or equipment by
then?
ONE MORE EMAIL
I guess now that we still have the same old Mayor everything will go to hell in a hand basket for sure now. Now that we are again in the same rut as before, the riverfront, grocery store, city improvements and solicitation of new business will go by the way side. The only improvement that matters in the Mayors eyes are PD & FD. And by the way, doesn't he make a nice presentation on tv? Can't see where we have a lot to be proud of as for as City Government!
HARVEY ALLEN PASSED AWAY APRIL 20TH AT THE AGE OF 96
April 21, 2001
Here is an email I received today.
Editor: jbrandt@gte.net
I am from Jacksonville Il. I did a search for casinos on the internet and found the lagrange website. I could see that the casino in lagrange was about to open. In further exploring your website I found the gossip page. I could not believe that all you had to say about the police department in lagrange. I work for a police department and I would not allow anyone to print what you have printed about the lagrange police department. My wife and I decided to go to lagrange and see the casino and the town. We drove around the property where the casino is being built and then drove around town. We had lunch and then parked around town and watched the police in action. I also stopped to talk to some people in town at the restaurant and gas station and found that almost everyone agrees with what you put on the gossip page. During this time, the police went by us many times looking us over like criminals. I am sure that one ran our license plate number as he looked at me and then stopped not too far where he could see us sitting and watched us. My wife and I both felt like criminals, so we left. I am sorry to say that in our observation of the lagrange police in action for one afternoon, the police department needs severe supervision. Good luck with the casino, I don't think we will be back though.
Most emails that I have received the past few days were bewilderment as to how the Mayor won again. A lot questioned why some people voted for a councilman and not a mayor. There seems to be 20 some difference in the counts. I am sure that a reason will be out soon.
April 20, 2001
If you had a scanner on last night you would have busted out laughing. There was a robbery in West Quincy and all 9 officers were lined up at the South city limits with swat suits on and lights flashing panting to go. The dispatcher made call after call to Marion County to offer assistance. And none was needed. Then out of the blue a train derailment in Revere. All of the cars and officers ran to the North City limits and even the first were there too panting to go. But, all offers were turned down. All these officers, all this new gear, all these new cars, the swat training, everything, going to waste.
So, again, the people of La Grange will have to be extremely careful. It will be like a wife on pms for a few days until the frustration subsides. Arrests will have to be made to make up for this rejection.
Questions: When did the City move the City limits to the ball diamond? What is back by the shelter house that needs police protection? Why does the police car drive through the cemetery at night with all its lights on?
To the new Councilmen. First item of business. Get your rear down to City Hall and get a copy of the City code book. (Ordinance book). Next get a copy of the budget that Martini and Weasel have dreamed up. Then get out your phone book and look up, moral, ethical, intelligent, lawyer. After that, look up Missouri State Auditor. If you don't, your rear will be on the line for the past.
And finally, it would be wise to attend the next (6) [yes 6]special meetings. You are going to be in for a big surprise if you don't. There will probably be a couple of committee meetings in between special meetings.
I will try to work in all the emails I have received these past few days. A lot of pissed off people. Yes there can be a difference in one count to another. Only a hand recount can tell.
April 18, 2001
Well, the election is over and you can easily tell who won by the crack down by the cops. For at least a week or so before the election, they were no where to be seen, but today and tonight is like Katy bar the doors. Radar from one end to the other. Two cars running all over town searching. Stops in and out of town. It's like everyone driving through town is a criminal again. Sorry John Tiemann.
THANK YOU GAMBLING BOAT PEOPLE.
WE ALL ARE SO PLEASED AS TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO THE TOWN.
Your 184 votes will continue to hurt the people of La Grange.
Makes you wonder what the other 400 nonvoters were thinking. By this time next year, they will be saying, why didn't I vote last year.
On the river front, the water is a rising. The old ball field is completely under water. The old Pete's Boat House would now have about a foot of water in it. '73 is close at hand and if we get a few good rains up north, another 93 could be just as close.
Elsie Brinkley passed away April 17, 2001
April 17, 2001
Well, today is election day. And guess who won? Andy Ayers 181 - Harold 184. I sure thought more of his supporters had gotten arrested, I guess the chief only goes after other Mayor candidates. But, the good news is the weasel is out and Sam Henderson is in, in the South Ward. Martini is gone and John Stiffy is in, in the Middle Ward and MADD is out and Ronald Powers is in, in the North Ward. Now, we seem to have a City Council that will more inclined to abide by the Charter and Ordinances of the City of La Grange. These guys have morals and ethics.
North Ward - Powers 61 - Heindselman - 55 - Lowe 50
Middle Ward - Stiffy 48 - Cox 41 - Harscher 36 - Martin 0
South Ward - Henderson 43 - Wiewel 10
Last spring I posted pictures of some property of which a neighbor told another neighbor that he just wanted to get rid of some "old" trees that were about to fall on his fence. Well, the neighbor hired a bulldozer and the dozer operator who didn't care about the rights of others just dozed the whole hill off and pushed it all into a nice little creek. Today, I give you a follow up picture. Here, you will see all the neighbors trees still pushed into the creek and the offensive neighbor still hasn't fixed one piece of his fence. Good neighbors are hard to find. Click Here
I guess by now that everyone knows that La Grange now has caller ID. It works very well for telephone callers that call here in town but it doesn't work too well on calls from anywhere else. I guess it will be a good deal for all those heavy breather calls some in town have been receiving. It will also stop those people calling the police department anonymously to report a drunken driver.
I was just looking around on the net, I came across the FCC.GOV page and did some searches. I couldn't find any license application or authorization for this guy who has two-way radios in his trucks that also allows him to talk to the police. In fact, I couldn't find any authorization for the other guys running around chattering during an "emergency".
DON'T FORGET TO VOTE TUESDAY!!!!!!
April 16, 2001
Well, tomorrow is election day. We will see how many of the Mayor's 187 voters have been arrested. We will also see whether the City will get a City administrator or not. If the Mayor gets reelected, the City will keep on borrowing money from the boat.
Speaking of the boat, I don't think that they thought the river would come up. It looks like they are going to experiment with underwater paving this week.
I received this rumor a couple of days ago, but it is getting widely circulated now, so it seems to have legs. The rumor is that a Councilman somehow doesn't work at the easy job anymore and is now a truck driver. Rumor also has it that another councilman working for the same place may be looking for someplace else to work. Just a rumor now.
Rumor has it that some police officers were seen today playing basketball with some kids at the park. Good move, but the Chief will put a stop to that real quick.
April 13, 2001
Lucretia Brinkley and John Warning Passed away Thursday.
Rumor has it that the La Grange Lions Club was offering a free fish fry while the LAPD was getting their take from the luckless people going north out of town. Great public relations. It is too bad they don't sit in the ally by the ice cream shop. He is the one that is always complaining about everyone speeding by and not stopping to buy ice cream.
Can anyone tell me why the police department needed (2) 100 watt concealment speakers? Listen to rap maybe? Even if they were actually needed, then why did the City have to pay $38 for next day air?
Rumor has it there is a banker dumb enough to loan someone who just moved to town $5500 to buy a dog. Let's see someone who has lived here all their lives do that!
The Mayor's race is heating up according to the newspapers. Neighbor against neighbor is what they say. The Mayor is outing all the things he will do if elected again. Looks like the same ad he ran the last two times. You would think he would eventually get them done. Let's see now, his biggest accomplishment so far is to sell out the people of La Grange to the gambling boat. Next, is spend all the money the city has saved up and put the City and the People of La Grange in debt to the boat for, let's see now, is it $300,000 or $400,000 or is it now up to $500,000.00? How about turning a police chief loose to arrest everyone in town? How about letting the gambling boat mortgage our underground water supply? How about the idea that he will next have the street super (DO THE STREETS PROPERLY)? I really haven't thought about just how much good he has done for everyone. Take a count from 1993. The City has lost 13 business since he has been Mayor and now he wants to see that number grow.
Did you read in the Quincy paper where Hizzonner and the Fire Chief state as a fact that YOUR insurance rates will be lowered $40.00. Ok, I called my insurance man and got his answer. You call your insurance man and see what he tells you. I'll bet you will get the same answer I got. But, maybe after the Fire Chief spends that next $175,000 plus dollars, we will see a rate decrease.
THIS IS FOR THE WEASEL WHO CAN'T READ. Section 105.080 states that no person shall be elected (or appointed) to any office unless he is 21 years old and a RESIDENT of the city of La Grange for (1) year prior to the election or appointment. Now, Section 200.010 states that each policeman before receiving his (APPOINTMENT) shall take the oath of office. How about Section 225.030 regarding the (APPOINTMENT) of the fire chief and so on. Oh, I know, you and Martini just waived those ordinances didn't you??
MAYBE, just MAYBE, the people of La Grange will realize the ways this Mayor and Council have continually violated their own laws and vote in new people.
April 10, 2001
You won't believe this, BUT! Rumor has it that one of La Grange's finest was hidden behind the old Imperial gas station (their usual hideaway) doing radar. Then along comes this car driving at a high rate of speed. The finest takes off in what was going to be a HIGH SPEED pursuit of this stupid criminal daring to speed in La Grange and promptly crashes the police car into a ditch doing over $1000 worth of damage to the police car. Then, this high speed criminal turns around and comes back to assist the crashed car officer. The speeder? Well, it seems it was the police chief the finest was going to arrest for speeding. Did he give him the breathalyzer??
More on the "accident" on Route C last Sunday. Rumor has it that a citizen was coming from the hog roast and was stopped by one of the finest. When the citizen asked what was going on, the officer stated that "an accident was in progress". I think it was the same one that called a "medical overdose" a crime scene.
Rumor also has it that at this same accident that the Missouri Highway Patrol called it and unfortunate accident and didn't give a ticket. But, it seems that one of the finest almost demanded that a ticket be issued and a breathalyzer be taken and maybe even a blood sample. Then the rumor says that the big man told the little man to disappear and the big man was seen all alone taking measurements. It is nice to see that the Highway Patrolmen and trained well.
We are now up to 7 and 1/2 cops, I think that what was reported at the Council meeting last night. And I think the Mayor and Council can't tell the difference between $50,000 and $100,000. Why do some Councilmen (Martini and Weasel) feel like they can exclude other Councilmen from meetings and decisions? After 8 years, the people of La Grange deserve better. The people should be sick and tired of the back stabbing and conniving that has been going on with these guys.
Someone watching the Gambling boat noticed the other day the several of the City employees and Mayor and several of the Council were invited to see the casino before it is opened. But, my question is to Hizzoner,,,, why not all the Councilmen and all the City employees?? Always the partisanship.
Why doesn't Martini and Weasel want to put the brakes on the Chief? How come the chief gets the Newest car to put the miles on driving to his home several miles out of La Grange?
April 8, 2001
Mana from Heaven! Well, that is what the Fire (have one for me) Chief was thinking yesterday. One call out to a person getting hit by a car. Then a fire and injury at the Double G. Then another call out last night. Fire (have one for me) Chief is going to need another raise. Maybe we could all chip and buy a cooler.
During all this excitement and power play, it seems a police officer in tennis shoes and a T shirt was barking a people who didn't recognize him as an un-uniformed officer. By listening to the scanner, it was really hard to say who was in charge of this operation this time.
Rumor has it that a visitor from the State of Washington was visiting relatives here in town the other day. I heard she was visiting the new Library here in town and was parked on Main street. When she came out, she found one of La Grange's finest parked right behind her car running the usual 28 -29 -30-31-32-33, and on and on her license number. When she asked what he was doing, he demanded to SEARCH her car. She rightfully told him NO and got into her car and left.
Boy, are those 12,000 gamblers going to have a rude awakening when they come to gamble. So, folks, here is "another" warning. If you have relatives or friends come to visit from out of state, have them stay in Quincy and go get them.
And is this really true??? Did one of La Grange's finest really stop and arrest a SCHOOL BUS driver? You have got to be kidding me. Well, I guess it is so. That'l' teach 'em to take our school.
Is it really true that the Police Chief now has a file on every man woman and child in La Grange? And what ever happened to that nice officer that used to come into the coffee shop? Rumor has it that he has under gone a transformation from a person to a cop. Sorry about that. It looked like for a while we were going to come up with some police officers, but now it looks like all we are getting are cops. Maybe a new Mayor and Council can bring sanity back.
Will MADD bring up anything at the next Council Meeting. If not, there is absolutely no reason to re-elect if he won't stand up for what he believes in. He might as well just remove all those bumper stickers.
April 7, 2001
The closer we get to opening day of the Casino, more and more of the problems coming to the people of La Grange and Lewis County keep coming out. Today in the Qunicy Herald Whig, the gaming commissioners did their dance around crime issues again. First they talk down the amount of crime coming to the area, and then out of the other side comes the fact that the boat will not get a license until there are enough police to handle the problems. The County has a right to be concerned about the work load coming to them. Just the other day, a La Grange police officer noticed an open door on the casino and called the Sheriff's department to investigate.
Has anyone else noticed all the new police cars parked all around City Hall and every where else?? Is it true the every car will have a radar gun, computer, camera, shotgun, riot gun, and two officers????
Did the Chief and indian really go to swat training school?? Will it really get that bad here in La Grange that we will need a swat team?? Does anyone know exactly how many times a high ranking fireman has been arrested for a driving and drinking problem???? Is the City still paying to train officers that were supposed to be trained before they were hired??
And one other thing. The St. Louis paper had an article where a HIGHWAY PATROL was arrested and charged with falsifying DWI tests. Also, the officer was charged with falsifying other arrests. Could that happen here in La Grange??? Well, if the officers are willing to arrest people for speeding in the block just North of the foundry knowing that the City Ordinance says otherwise, Sure it can happen here.
Ordinance # 187 states clearly that the speed limit coming into La Grange from the North City Limits is 40MPH all the way to Bates Street. Bates street happens to be 1 block South of the 30 mile per hour speed limit sign North of the Foundry. Bate Street ends at the North Foundry gate.
Yet, the Mayor, Martini and Weasel of the Police Committee continue to allow and even encourage the police to break the law and use the radar gun to trap people speeding in an area where they are allowed to speed by City ordinance. Can falsified arrests be made?? It happens every day. And even the Judge and City Attorney encourage the false arrests.
April 6, 2001
It seems that the Canton Police have been taking lessons from our own finest. Let's see now, I hear that and officer shot a playful dog in front of some kids saying it was a rabid dog. But, I hear he left the so called rabid dog lay there with the kids and left. Rumor also has it that a police officer was working for s few weeks and didn't even have a drivers license. Then today in La Grange, here was a sewer problem on main street. The sewer truck was blocking one lane of traffic. Then the finest came along and blocked the other lane so he could direct the traffic around his car that was blocking the lane.
I hear that the Methodist Church Fish Fry was a great success as always. They really need more room. Well, now we have one more fish fry to go and that one is a free one.
With all the hail we had last night, it is a wonder more cars weren't damaged. A few had broken windows and one house that I heard had the siding screwed up.
And yesterday when I made the comment about the casino. I said that the casino wouldn't affect me one way or another. I don't gamble so it wouldn't take any of my money and I was sure they would never bu anything from me so I wasn't counting on making any money. I lost on both accounts. First they bought so stuff from me and then one of the dump trucks dropped a rock on my windshield. I guess that even though the insurance company will pay for it, it still cost me.
Thursday, I had to go to Court in Monticello. I counted that there were thirty people less at County Court for the County than appeared at La Grange City Court. Maybe we could move the County seat to La Grange. Oh, I also took time to visit around Monticello and the Court house and found that most of the people out there go around La Grange rather than chance a ticket and almost everyone laugh abut our police protection. Oh, the reason I was there was because I am suing a long distant telephone company. The hired Wasinger in Hannibal and I had to give him another 30 days to prepare his defense.

It seems the policia have been very very busy. One after another after another. Tuesday, the fire department was seen running both ways on new 61. Everyone has seen the home that was put against the hillside on the South end. Everyone was wondering how long it would take for the hillside to come down. Well (click here) and see that it is already happening.
I guess the image of the City is not a top priority, take a look at the City signs (click Here).and (click Here). I guess this is what the heated debate was at the meeting the other night. Or was it about the Fire Chief? or was it about $400,000 debt??
Just remember this. If Martini and Weasel took Catfish bends offer. La Grange would have had a casino boat plying the river since 1995. Let's see now, how much has these two and the banker lady cost the people of La Grange??? $1.7 mil times 6 years. How much is that banker lady - Martini - Weasel??
I have always said that if a casino is all La Grange could get, then so be it. It wouldn't make no difference to me as it won't take any of my money and it won't make me any money. Yesterday, I had to eat my words.
DO NOT FORGET THE big FISH FRY tomorrow at the METHODIST CHURCH.
