Sunday the 13th, a kid came by my son Scott's house and was harassing the boys and Scott. Somehow, the La Grange police was called and the big fat dumb one came to Scott's house. He drove up to Scott's place and hollered out that he wasn't going to do anything. Scott said fine just leave then. The COP jumped out and went up to Scott and said he was called here, he didn't have to leave. Scott, repeatedly told the COP to leave which he wouldn't, so Scott started to his truck to call the Sheriff to remove the COP and then the COP jumped Scott from behind slamming him into his truck and twisted Scott's broken arm behind his back and handcuffed him. Then he told Scott he was under arrest for assaulting a police officer. I would have asked where one was.

They took Scott to Monticello and put a 24 hour hold on him so he couldn't be bailed out. The Court called me at 3 pm Monday and said I needed to bring out $2500 cash by 4pm. We did get Scott out. We now have all the neighborhood who signed statements that the COP was wrong and was lying.

I went to the Council meeting Tuesday to talk to the Mayor and Council about this problem with LARRY GIBSON, a La Grange City COP. I wanted to make sure that what I had to say would be put into the minutes of the Council meeting.

What I said was that a CRAZY COP was at a meeting Nov 27, 2004 in which he harassed - threatened and badgered the new owner of the Foundry. (The Mayor and Council still have no idea why the man has never came back to La Grange) The CRAZY COP tried start fights between the new owner and the scrapper, me and the scrapper and lied to the new owner. At one point, the new owner gave me two padlocks, one belonged to the new owner and one to the scrapper. The CRAZY COP in an effort to start a fight hollered at the scrapper and said I had his padlock. I said here you give him his padlock. he said QUOTE " I ain't your f---ing NIGGER. and then repeated it. So, I just leaned over and tossed it on the ground to the scrapper. The CRAZY COP then said "I could arrest you for loitering". But the scrapper picked it up and ended it. I then went to talk to a couple of other guys a little ways away who were watching this circus and asked me who the CRAZY COP was. LARRY GIBSON.

The next day I sent an email to the City Attorney Jeff Curl telling him all about how the CRAZY COP was doing and trying to do to the new owner of the foundry. I might as well sent it to the trash bin. He could care less what the LAPD was doing. I continued me talk to the Mayor and Council about how this Cop violated his oath of office to the City TWICE, plus two Missouri State Statues regarding filing false police reports. Who cares?

45 Days later, I get a letter from Monticello asking me to come out and talk to the Prosecuting attorney. The CRAZY COP filed a false police report and false criminal complaints against me falsely stating I threw with all my might am (industrial strength) padlock at the CRAZY COP and scared him to death.

Hello" 45 days ago and now he jus now got scared for his life? He had a gun? Three times my size? And he waits 45 days to file the complaint? Once the Prosecuting Attorney received all the witness affidavits and was shown the crime scene, he filed a not to prosecute with the Court.

3 Months later a COP named Scott SALABORN. His daddy is a big doctor in Quincy.

Three months later a scrap dealer called me and asked me to show him the foundry so he could bid on the scrap. I met him and since I didn't have a key, we walked around on the river side of the foundry and he went in where the fence was taken down to look around.

COP Scott Salaborn came back there and saw me standing in the middle of the street. He accused me of being on foundry property which 30 feet west of me. Then he accused me of being on railroad property which was 30 feet to the east. He wrote out two tickets that said that while I was standing in the middle of the street, I was trespassing on two separate properties. He had the wrong place, wrong date and wrong court on the tickets. So dumb.

I then was told by an ex-cop that the COPS at the LAPD were going to take turns falsely arresting me every few months. They didn't care whether I won or not, just make the arrest.

SO I SUED. I sued the cops, the police chief, the city attorney, city administrator, the city, the Mayor and several Councilmen. For not the $1.2 million that was leaked to the news, but for $2.3 MILLION. The City attorney charged the City $2,000 to handle the case for a couple months and then he hired some big boys in St. Louis for $10,000. So, because the City attorney Jeff Curl couldn't handle the case, the city got stuck for another $10,000.

One thing I heard was that the city attorney said most of charges were thrown out and I lost the case. NOT TRUE, another lie. The big time lawyer just called me on the phone and asked me what my problem was and what could be done to drop the suit. I said if he would guarantee that I would not be falsely arrested again, I would dismiss the suit and he agreed. BUT, I guess the CRAZY COP thought Scotty was fair game then.

And then I continued on with the false arrest of Scotty. After I got done speaking, I turned to leave and the CRAZY COP was standing at the door. When I got to the door, he opened it just enough for me to get through. As I was leaving he followed me outside and threatened me that he was going to get even with me and it wouldn't be a ticket and that it would be painful. I was at the bottom of the steps and turned to go back up to go tell the council and mayor but I could see that he was ready to do something so I went on home and called the Mayor and a couple of Councilmen.

You will not believe what I was told. Apparently, a new lawsuit doesn't bother them but they refused to fire a rogue cop who has violated several laws. Go figure.

I had one try to tell me that the City could lose it charter if a cop was fired. How dumb was that? The next suit will go to trial.

Last night, KHQA did a report on the Casino and La Grange. They interviewed the City Administrator Mark Campbell and he assured the reporter that there wasn't any crime in town. DUH, the businesses are all gone and the COPS stop and Harass everyone that comes to town. RITA FARR said the streets are all lovely, but didn't take the reporter for a ride around town to see all the pot holes.

Campbell says the casino has made a *number* of improvements possible. The city is in the process of building a new sewer treatment plant.

HELLO! I believe that the people of La Grange are PAYING for the new sewer plant for the CASINO.

She has spent THOUSANDS on the property owned by a multi-billion dollar company Triangle Refineries.

RITA COX: It just looks better. The streets are better. The brush has been cut. Everybody has more pride in our city, and a lot of that is from casino money. No, I am sorry, but the City mows Mrs. Wiley's Property and CHARGES her, the casino doesn't pay for that.

Since the casino is located at the very *edge* of town, City Administrator Mark Campbell says LaGrange has not had to deal with increased traffic. In fact, it has the *opposite* problem. Many casino visitors don't drive *through* the town, so businesses don't always cash in on dollars spent in the community. AND the COPS make sure that if anyone does come through town that they will PAY for it.

Yesterday, I was contacted at 3pm to go to Monticello to bail out my Son Scott. I had 45 minutes to come up with $2,500 cash bond and get it to the Court house. It took another hour for them to release my son. I got a copy of the police complaint. The arresting officer stated that Scott crossed his arms, (actually, Scott's left elbow was shattered a couple of months ago and he holds it), anyhow the COP stated that because Scott crossed his arms and took a step toward him and said F--- you, get off my property, the COP stated he (the cop) was apprehensive and feared for his life and bodily harm and arrested Scott for ASSAULTING a police officer.

Scott folded his arms, took a step and cussed. That, that put the fear in the over weight, twice the size of Scott, that he shit his pants.

This is the second time this police officer has filed a false police report (that I know of) and a false criminal complaint which is conduct unbecoming a police officer and grounds for termination. The question is now, is Josh Alexander willing to risk his career as a police officer by committing perjury? It is hard to believe that an honest police officer with his whole life in front of him in the law enforcement career be willing to lie for a fat lying cop.

Yet, one other cop, Don Cybert, lied for Larry Gibson. Now, he is stuck being a cop in La Grange forever. No matter where he goes to apply for a better job, this will haunt him for the rest of his life as a police officer. Yet, even he can rectify his mistake and be a better police officer but, I doubt he will, he sees no way out and is willing to stay as a lowly cop in La Grange and go nowhere for the rest of his life.

His big dumb FAT ASS COP Larry Gibson was called by Scott Brandt because a guy with a restraining order was harassing Scotty. Because the BIG DUMB FAT ASS COP Larry Gibson has gotten away with filing false police reports and filing false criminal charges, he arrested Scotty. The BIG FAT DUMB MAYOR TIM ROSSITER swore him in as a cop again knowing he was sued once for the illegal acts of this police officer. He threw him up against his truck hitting his head and twisted Scotty's broken arm behind his back with extreme force. Because Scotty told the BIG DUMB FAT ASS COP to get off his property, the BI DUMB FAT ASS COP arrested Scotty for Assaulting a police officer. A COP that files false police reports and criminal complaints.

I see in the Quincy rag that Ann Pierceall and Rita farr-COX got together to promote the Appreciation days. Rita said she would like to see more use of the river. Let's see now, she has her buddy Eisenbiess as the dedicated full time employee mowing and watching the river front park daily. BUT, Rita farr-COX as councilman steadfastly refused to have the city pay for and put up signs on the highway to promote the sand beach, boat ramp, and park area, much less any signs to promote Food and Gas so tourist will turn off the highway. She talks the talk but like Tim Rossiter, she can't walk the walk.

BUT, maybe that is a good thing. Since she and Tim have all their COPS to protect them, it will fewer people to drive through La Grange and get harassed by the COPS and then go off and tell their horror story.

One citizen of the town was stopped the other day. Rumor has it that the cops charged him with speeding in a area where he wasn't speeding and when they stopped him, one COP pulled his gun out. Some day, mark my word, someone will get killed by a La Grange Cop. Some day.

While the mayor elect councilman Rossiter and Mayor Gunsauls are spending thousands of your dollars mowing grass for a multibillion dollar company , Kerr McGee, they are at the same time mowing poor old women's properties and sending them outrageous bills for the mowing. Another screw the people.

Dudley do nothing will be sworn in as the Mayor of La Grange. He will turn around and swear in again the 2 cops that violated their last oath of office and other crimes. While you drive around town over and around the potholes in the streets, the city crew is busy making the city park look good for the non appreciation days.

The town will go back to sleep for another two years of nothing and the people will keep paying every month for the new sewer plant for the casino.

Speaking of the casino, have you tried eating there lately? Who ever is in charge of the restaurant should be fired on the spot. Pancakes were served yesterday made out of waffle batter and were hard on top and bottom and doughy in the center. Many were sent back as uneatable. One person said that the casino serves the best food in the country and also serves the worst food in the country. You just got to be there on the right day. Another said that they gamble their money on one side and gamble again when the go to eat. Sometimes you get a good waitress and the food sucks and other times, the food is great and the waitress sucks.

Rumor has it that cop was trying to get a computer working and couldn't. He called tech support to get help and the tech support found that the cop plugged the power strip into itself.

Nicole Feldkamp and Kenneth McElroy of La Grange had a Son. Heather Nicole Cottrell and Wesley randall Sharp are getting married.

The new Mayor hasn't even been sworn in yet and already he has started his run and hide from any phone calls. He did this when he was mayor before and also as a Councilman. Every Friday evening, he takes off for the weekend to hide from anyone calling him and complaining to him and here he isn't even sworn in yet and he has gone into hiding. Those 123 voters have to be proud now.

Rumor has it that a LAPD COP is going to get a speeding ticket. Rumor has it that he passed a highway patrolman on the highway at excessive speed. Rumor also has it that it was a little blue car. No one in City Hall cares about the actions of the Cops in La Grange.

Last year, the past Mayor Theresa Gunsauls purchased several thousand ton of asphalt at the urging of the Public Works Foreman (PWF). The only problem is, she bought it "on credit". Mayor Rossiter will be handed the bill. Which brings me to this. I see that the PWF was paving Monroe street by the park with white rock. Why? Why not use some of the thousands of tons of asphalt? I guess he wants the people coming to the Appreciation days.

Since the Councilman won Mayor, guess who will run to take his place?? Yep. Rita FARR's wife ED Cox.

Are you going to run again when Timmie quits. You know he can't use any of your ideas. What can he do, be another Theresa and do nothing but preside over the meetings?

How long do you think it will take before Rossiter moves out of town? Six months??

Well, I do have to say that the PWF is happy not having to do anything. They were all sitting around at the water plant the other day. Whatever happened to the City Administrator? Is he still around?

If there is anyone who doesn't think I have all the right ideas on how to improve the peoples lives in La Grange. they just need to see what the others are saying now. This week, I mailed out to the people of La Grange my ideas and lo and behold, now those ideas are now being touted by the other two. Just goes to show you who is the best. All you have to do to make sure that you benefit from the casino money is vote for the one who can make it happen. JERRY BRANDT

Because of the business jargon of the three P's. Pretty Poor Planning by past Mayors and Councils, the people of La Grange are now paying up to 300% higher water and sewer rates. Any intelligent person could see that the $3 million cost of the new sewer plant could have been paid out of the $9 MILLION already received. But, past Mayors and Councils spent hundred of thousands on a few streets and not needed fire trucks. Fiscal responsibility has not been practiced in the past. ELECT JERRY BRANDT to bring fiscal responsibility to the city.

There is no reason for the people of La Grange to pay any property taxes. The people are paying property taxes only because previous Mayors and Councils refused to give up the money so they could spend it.

There is no reason why the City can't get the old foundry cleaned up and put to good use Only because there hasn't been a Mayor elected that will do the job. Not one past Mayor has tried to do anything about it.

Today, the City crew was working on a water leak at Casey's. They had out the barricades and the traffic was going around the work area. BUT, with this time and every other time, you never see a COP helping protecting the workers. In fact, today, the cop was protecting the fish in the river. Sitting down on the river bank all by himself, in his warm car, motor running, burning gas, listening to his radio for a bank robbery. Only in La Grange, where there is no one in charge.

I heard that the City got on Curtis Farr for having his rummage sale items in his back yard. Funny, there is complete silence from the Mayor and Council about the junk across the street.

For everyone trying to make it to Church this morning, be aware, Mayor Theresa Gunsauls and Mayor wannabe Tim Rossiter and the other Councilmen have their GESTAPO Police officer running radar North of the Foundry all day. Rumor has it that someone running for Mayor come Apr 17th, is planning to move out of town. Rumor has it that his place is for sale. If he gets elected, will that mean another election. Who would do that to the city? Oh, let's see, Steve Griesbaum?? Tim Rossiter? Well, Steve was lucky to get a lot in the North ward, but who cares?

NOAA weather again has issued a FLOOD WARNING for the Quincy area Mississippi River

Well, the city newsletter came out yesterday and Mayor Theresa Gunsauls and City Administrator Mark Campbell were just gushing with praise for each other about spending millions of dollars of YOUR money on the new sewer treatment plant for the CASINO. Last year, they showed artist renderings of the proposed new plant which showed the tops of the tanks several feet above the road. Now, Mark says it will be just above the road. Which makes one wonder if a higher flood will top this tank?? The original one was built to be higher than the last flood and in 1973, it held its own but, was topped in 1993. So will a little above the 1993 flood be enough? Why not a few more feet higher to guarantee it will not be topped.

The city is putting a new water line for another new water well. The new water line goes East on the South side of the levy between the City and Richters to the old bottom road and then South to an area near the old old wells. Those wells were stopped being used as the water was getting too much manganese and such????

And, the City Administrator warned everyone about a possible tornado and what to do in case you forgot.

Mayor Theresa Gunsauls and the City Council including running for Mayor Tim Rossiter are continuously trying to pass a four wheeler, lawn mower, golf cart, mule Ordinance that will do nothing but COST YOU MONEY and MAKE YOU A CRIMINAL.

It looks like the police dispatcher took some time off for bereavement and was punished for it. For some unknown reason other than a gotcha. Well, the Council reconsidered punishing her and allowed the time off and took back their demerit.

Another interesting note. Ron Powers brought up about a glory hole in the bathroom wall of the police station, and he wanted the glory hole fixed pronto.

Now, just few months before the 4th of July, the Mayor is worried about someone certified to light the fireworks. So, just in case they don't want Kelly Murphy, who is certified, to do it, she suggests husband Henry Gunsauls to be certified. Why not some one else? Maybe some one else on the fire department might want to be certified and make the money.

It looks like that after every Council meeting the Mayor and Council go into CLOSED SESSION. WHY?

Jerry: I noticed your remark about Tim Rositter. As far as I am concerned, all he did was spend money. But, this is about ED COX. Does the fire department really want Ed Cox in as Mayor?? Do you remember what Ed Cox did the Maurice Tonnies apartment house just South if the Lions Hall? Remember Ed and his buddies having a bottle rocket fight "inside" the upstairs apartment and burned the building down? What if he decides to have a bottle rocket fight in City Hall some night? Some guy named Roger Renfro wrote a letter to the editor of the Canton Paper. Supposedly he was running for the office of Mayor of La Grange, however, nobody knew him or of him. I received many calls yesterday and today wanting to know "who this butt head was" as one caller stated and where did he come from. Anyhow, he apparently doesn't like the present Mayor or anyone else running for Mayor of La Grange. His main hit on me was the lawsuit I filed against the City last year for the 7 times I was falsely arrested. That had been taken care of last year. He also mentioned that I fired a rouge police chief and his Indians which was later upheld by the Council. He complained that Tim didn't attend the last couple of meetings. So what, nothing is done in the last few meetings in the change of Mayors and the Mayor pro-tem presided. Why is that a valid complaint. He didn't elaborate on Theresa. Evidently, he felt he was tricked the other times he voted. It is too bad he HAD to move to Canton, he could have been a very good Mayor. Who was he now? Where did he come from? Well, everyone knows that there is an election now.

The little PRATT boy who lives just up the hill from the Lions Hall called again last night a couple of times. He started about a year ago calling late at night to early in the morning. Last summer he called several times until one of his buddies told me who it was. I guess his little mind forgot about caller ID and telephone tape recorders. Anyhow, he called last evening and my wife answered the phone and he wanted to talk to me after I went to bed. He tried to make his voice sound southern and when she said I was in bed his voice changed when he said what? The he said he would call back at another time. A little while later he tried his southern accent again and when she asked who it was so I could call back later he said he was the PURPLE DILDO. His mother has to be so proud of him. So if YOU get a call at night and it is an obscene call and he says he is the PURPLE DILDO you can call 655-2209 and talk to him.

Shelter insurance to lower car insurance rates. La Grange Ball sign-up is Sunday march 4th 4-6pm at City Hall. Birdnest Restaurant has weekend Lenten specials. The city is passing more Ordinances for the sewer plant funding. Robert L. Neff 69 of Canton passed away. The Youth Center is being used by more and more kids. The Center has expanded refreshments from just soda and candy to add chips - cookies - pizza - hot dogs - corn dogs and other. Don't forget the Lions Club Fish Fry. The Notre Dame Catholic Church is having a Sunday brunch at the Lion's Hall from 9:30am to 1:0pm. Ham, egg/sausage casserole, hash browns, fruit cup, sweet roll, coffee, juice or milk, Join.

Win some. A person wanting to pay their water bill got the envelope mixed with their mail. All that was on the envelope that wasn't sealed was water bills. The post office called and asked if the person wanted to go ahead and mail the letter to the city or put it back in the mail box. NOW, that is small town service.

Lose some. Another person pays their water bill and wrote the correct amount in one place and a different amount in another. Anyhow, it took several days for the mistake to be noticed. The person was mailed a notice, which the person went and paid the bill, but because the problem wasn't noticed in time, there is a late fee.

NO phone calls were made. More problems created than needed because no one took the time to call.

The Lions club had its first fish fry of the year and everyone said that the fish was very good. There were a lot of good comments about the new addition of Walleye. Like other fundraisers in town, there is only one or another Councilman contributing. No one has seen the Mayor anywhere. How can anyone be a councilman or mayor and not support the community?

We had a nice long rain the past 24 hours. A couple of times it came down pretty good and the water ran all over main street by Casey's.

The city council will be putting in more fancy Antique street lights so everyone will be able to walk by the new sewer plant. One good thing is that the Fire Chief has outdone the City Administrator again by getting another $54,000 grant. Some will notice in the city newsletter that the Mayor didn't have anything to say. Kind of like any council meeting.

The Council smartly decided not to pass the junkyard ordinance and the all terrain vehicle ordinance as all they will do is make more people criminals and cost more people money.

The city only got quotes from the La Grange and Monticello banks for Certificate of Deposits and selected the La Grange bank. One wonders why the First Federal Bank wasn't contacted?????

Miscellaneous 120, I know what this is, it is where the cops sit on the river bank with the city crew.

The last snow fall, was where no streets were being cleaned but the riverfront was.

It snowed again last night and guess what? Not one city employee with any snowplow came out. All the streets are snow covered again and will stay that way until Tuesday. No employee will work on Saturday or Sunday and Monday is a Holiday. By the time the city gets around to cleaning the streets, the sun will have removed most of it.

A man named Porter from La Grange passed away yesterday. I heard that Mildred Bradshaw was taken to the hospital the other day.

Since January was the month to clean the family room. February is the month to clean the home office. Separate junk from usable items. Cull old papers. Clean out the file on the computer. Jerry I was just returning home from Hannibal at around 12:15 this afternoon when between Palmyra and the pipeline I was passed by the LaGrange city cop car with Officer Hydorn in it. I was following a large box truck, a van pulling a trailer, and a gasoline semi. When he passed me I looked at my speedometer and was traveling between 68-70 miles per hour. IF I had been doing 31 in LaGrange I would have received a ticket and a lot of harassment from the PD. Why should he do this in another county? Fair is Fair.

Does he think he is better than the people who travel thru LaGrange?????

Rumors: Everyone knows there are no secrets in La Grange. So, there is a rumor about a couple of Council people who are trying to come up with a way to make the outcome of the election in April to go their way. There is also a rumor that some council people have plans after the election to do something to one of the people running for Mayor.

Looks like someone was watching the Gossip Page. The city had a truck out by 3am. More came out before 7am and were cleaning streets all day Tuesday.

I saw that they were out before I was Tuesday and were doing more today. Somebody pulled some chains to get this done but, once in awhile some work does get done.

The weatherman is calling for 2 to 6 inches of snow. They say it will start this afternoon or evening. Who wants to bet that no Mayor or Councilman or Administrator will have the streets cleaned before you go to work tomorrow??

Ambulance was called this evening. The dumb one from Hannibal almost screwed it all up.

The people of La Grange had better to be prepared to bend over. The Mayor, Theresa Gunsauls and Councilmen, including Tim Rossiter running for mayor are looking at a NEW WAY to screw you over. Yesterday, while visiting with the tax assessor at City hall, I noticed what looked like a screw the people book on the table. The name of the book was INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODES. With a book like this on the councilman's table, you, the people of La Grange need to be scared to death. Not, only are the greatest minds of the City looking at forcing building codes on you, they are looking at INTERNATIONAL building codes. You now have been duly WARNED.

La Grange, the only City with a windfall of over a million dollars a year and can't afford to buy salt for the streets and get the City crew to put the snow plows down before they sand the snow.

Tonight, again on National TV, everyone is wanting the weather alert radio. I tried a couple of years ago to get Mayor Tim Rossiter and Fire Chief Henry Gunsauls to furnish one to every home in town. They decided to blow their whistles. You can't talk on a whistle, you could on a radio. But, they were the smartest people in town and who cares about the money?

The Lions Club Pancake and sausage day seems to be its usual success even thought the City Council had police radar running and stopping people coming into town by the Foundry all day. Councilman Rossiter running for Mayor doesn't seem to care any fundraisers by the non profits are harassed by his cops.

News on TV today is about severe storms roaring across Florida. Several survivors credit their surviving with "Weather Radios. A year or so ago, the City was deciding how to protect the people with warning them about a tornado. I approached La Grange Fire Chief Henry Gunsauls, husband of Mayor Theresa Gunsauls about this. I suggested that the City require and provide weather radios for every home in town. The sirens of the weather radio can be heard any where in a home. I was informed that the people out playing in the storm would not be able to hear the weather radio. But, people in their homes with the TV on, Stereo on, Air conditioner running, doors and windows closed may not hear the sirens. Plus, the fire department could talk to the people in town through them.

Mayor TIM ROSSITER won out and thousands of dollars were spent on the sirens. But, the weather radio TELLS you what is happening. Even Quincy is now going to require every home have a weather radio. Cities all over the Country are going to weather alert radios. But, the Mayor and Henry Gunsauls put the people ten years behind.

I swore I would never write to you or the Gossip page. But, here goes. There is an elderly lady whole lives above the old Driftwood cafe. I think she has l1ved there for years. Anyhow, since the Mayor and City Council has deemed it a Criminal act to clean the sidewalks, this woman has been a prisoner in her apartment for weeks. What would the Mayor and council say if the place caught on fire or she had a heart attack and there was no way to get to her? Who would they lay blame on? It most certainly will not be them selves. AND, by the way, since you put on the Gossip page about the city crew cleaning streets, I can assure you that there are many places the city crew just won't clean and still are not clean and have ice on them. Just my opinion.

The city election is coming up soon. Let me ask you a question? Two La Grange cops violate their oath and file false police reports, then also file false criminal complaints, do you think they should be fired? Would you vote for a person for Mayor who not only did not fire these two but voted to PROMOTE them? What kind of a signal does that send to the rest of the officers? Go ahead and commit any crime you want and you will get promoted. What kind of a Mayor will do that? One that won't ever run again. It is a shame that when the Mayor and Councilmen morals get so low that they promote criminal action.

Well, so much for praising the city crew. I guess since Ed Ensor can get around town in his 4 wheel drive vehicle then anyone can drive around town. I saw him come down the hill on Monroe Street in a city truck with a snow blade in the air and sand in the back and not one touched the ground. The City Council should vote to sell all the snow plows and sanders as they never get used. Kind of like the City Administrator, What good has he been in keeping the streets clean. Or Mayor Theresa??

You have got to get a 4 wheeler with a snow plow. Councilman Rossiter is out scrambling to get votes by cleaning peoples drives and sidewalks.

OH, wait a minute, Didn't MAYOR ROSSITER pass an Ordinance to prevent YOU and others from riding around town on a 4 wheeler? Or even your lawn tractor? You better not try that, YOU will probably get arrested.

Well, bad luck hit our family today. My son Scott fell off a roof in Camp Point Il. putting up a satellite dish and broke his arm. It looks like he will be in Blessing Hospital for two weeks. Go to Blessing hospital website and send him an email.

Someone woke the Mayor up and the mayor woke the City Administrator up and the Administrator woke up the Public Works Foreman and he got the crew out and the city streets were cleaned before (I) got up. How about that?

Now, all that needs to be done is to get the Quincy Herald Whig to hire someone intelligent enough to deliver the paper on time, or at least within a hour of the required time. Four times last week I didn't even get a paper and had to go to Casey's o buy a Sunday paper. The Canton nursing home gets their Sunday papers before 6 am all the time. You call the paper and they say they will contact the delivery person sometime and maybe you will get today's paper tomorrow. Then the Quincy Herald wants you to PAY them. ON time.

The biggest joke they do is tell you that they will add and extra day on your subscription. Then the paper sends out the post card starting with the last day you PAID. They tend to forget to add the extra day for not getting a paper you paid for.

Have you noticed that Quincy Herald Whig is quick to publish the City administrations names and addresses and phones BUT, refuse to put their own addresses - phones - or emails out to the public?? They want your money but do not want you to bother them, even though they already read the paper that was delivered to them early and you haven't received yours even after 9am.

Then the Canton paper shoots itself in the foot by doing away with local news. Other than getting the local news, why would anyone buy the paper? The only thing left is the advertising and sports. When the local basketball season is over, then what?

Well, I guess the only thing I can say now is, congratulations to the City crew for getting out and getting the job done.

Tim Rossiter, who is a councilman is running again for Mayor. But, as a past Mayor and now Councilman does not care that there is a radical cop that is giving the city a bad name. He didn't do anything about him when he was Mayor and has done nothing now as a councilman. He doesn't care that there are cops on duty that have violated their oath office, filed false police reports and filed false criminal complaints. In fact, he voted to promote them for their bad behavior. What a Mayor..

Ethanol Plants and Biodiesel plants are being planned everywhere around us. Why not La Grange? Well I'll tell you why. The Mayor Theresa Gunsauls doesn't care. The City Administrator Mark Campbell doesn't care. The City Council doesn't care. In 1980, the city did a comprehensive study of the assets near the city. Here is what the study found. There are several areas close to town that are in the commercial area that have an access to the 4 lane highway, unlimited water supply, close to major electrical power lines, near a major natural gas line, easy access and more. Every thing a Biodiesel plant or ethanol plant would need. But do you think anyone in the city is out broadcasting all these assets? NO. They don't care. They are too busy finding ways to throw away the casino money. NINE MILLION DOLLARS GONE in five years.

You take a drive around town. Then you wonder where the Mayor lives. You wonder where the councilman that is running for mayor lives. Take for instance as you drive South by the foundry and you come to the end of the foundry. You see where the city spread some sand on the South side of the foundry but across the street, the street there is a sheet of ice. Then you drive on south and you get to Martin's. The street east by the old catholic church is ice and the street up to Martins shed is ice. Go on down the street and you see another street that has never had a city truck on it and on and on around town. Why? Doesn't anyone care about these people on these streets?

The PUBLIC WORKS FOREMAN can't see any farther than the heater in the city shed. His boss, the City Administrator can't see outside warm City Hall, and Mayor Theresa Gunsauls, hides in her warm home. With about $2,000 of money from the city for the whole family, she can afford keeping her home warm, her taxes paid, her water and sewer bills paid. Much like past Mayor Tim Rossiter. He got a trailer near Hannibal and as soon as he got off work on Friday, he took off to hide from the phone calls all weekend. No one cares that these streets and other alleys are not cleaned or sanded. It's warm in the shed.

Today, I received my first threat for signing up as Mayor. Councilman Tim Rossiter who is running for Mayor sent the threat in an email to me. I did not realize that wanting to be Mayor was so important to him. He is using the same threat that Ralph Martin and Fred Wiewel used several years ago. It is amazing how low some people will stoop to get elected Mayor.

UPDATE! Since the news hit the gossip page - SOMEONE got the city crew off their asses and got the streets cleaned by noon.

I went to Canton this morning and Canton had snow lows and salting streets a 6am Sunday. La Grange is a poor City it only has $9 million to spend and can't afford SALT, they use free river sand and wait for the sun.

Thanks to Mayor Theresa Gunsauls, Ed Ensor, Mark Campbell, no one can safely get around town.

This morning around 7 an employee of the casino fell. The ambulance was called while I was coming into town. Going North on the hiway in town was a City COP riding around running radar. He went through the stop light twice and finally wandered down around the Casino and found everyone out with the injured employee. Instead of waiting at the stoplight to help the ambulance get through without worrying about someone pulling out in front of them, he went and got in the way. By the way, since the Mayor and her husband were first responders and GOT PAID for it, I didn't see them either. Do they pay themselves and the rest of the family even if they don't show up?

Just like we all knew. the streets won't be cleaned until the sun comes out. Ed Ensor got out a truck with a snow plow and some sand and drove all over town WITH THE BLADE UP, and threw out a little sand here and a little there and was eating breakfast at the Casino by 8am. Mayor Theresa Gunsauls will give her boy an award at the next Council meeting for his heroic actions. Even the Councilman running for Mayor will get the poor unfortunate workers out to clean the streets. Looks like great Mayoral material to me.

Just to let you know that every COP and City Crew are out in force trying to get everybody to not vote for you. You got the running scared to death. Who is that Roger guy, where did he come from? Isn't Ed the husband of Rite? How will that work a man and wife on the Council?

Got the new city newsletter today. Mayor Theresa said nothing. City Administrator talked about a new well. Also talked about adding new Antique Lighting street lights for the downtown area for the businesses? If the businesses that are left downtown don't get more "people from La Grange" do business with them, there won't be any more need for street lights there than the ones they already have installed .

One good thing about the City Council, they keep tabling these bad new City Ordinances, but sooner or later they will sneak in and pass them to screw you over so more.

380 Public services. That comes to what? 10 or more a day.. ha ha ha Give me a break.

Today is FRIDAY. This afternoon it started with freezing rain and sleet and some snow. At 4:30 pm the city shed was closed up tight and all employees are at home while the people of La Grange are out trying to get home from work. Just like the last snow in December on a Friday, there will be now one working the streets until Monday. No, wait, Monday is a Holiday, it will be Tuesday before they get to work on the streets. To be fair, I saw one truck with sand spreading about two feet wide behind it WITH THE SNOW PLOW UP.

I am happy to report that the City Crew are actually doing something constructive. Across from the police station the city crew is cleaning the hillside from brush. It is starting to look very good. We need to thank whoever decided this needed to be done and actually got the guys out of the shed.

Today, after the tree butchers came on my property and drove around my yard, the company sent a man to come and fill in the ruts and re-grass seed the new dirt. But, no sooner than the supervisor leave, here come the dumb truck driver back up again. This time I was home and stopped them at my property line. The dumb trimmer was determined to come on my property but, after some persuasion decided to go over on neighbor Bobs and cut the dead tree over his house down. A little while later a La Grange Cop came up to the trimmers, talked a bit and then backed down the hill.

I would like the people of La Grange to take notice that ever since Mayor Theresa Gunsauls and past Mayor Tim Rossiter and the City Council has put the people in debt FOREVER to pay for a new sewer plant for the Casino. THAT the present sewer plant has been operating with no problems at all. This could be that the City hired a competent person to run the sewer plant, or it could be that the DNR and EPA don't give a care anymore, they conned these Mayors and got the money. The problem of all this is that, they were after the Casino money but got the people of La Grange's money instead.

The irony of all this is, that the present sewer plant is running at 40% capacity and now they are building one that is 3 times bigger. Go figure.

Every one should gives thanks to Mayor Theresa Gunsauls and Past Mayor Tim Rossiter for their higher and higher water and sewer bills.

For our New Years celebration we went to the Bird's Nest Restaurant in Canton for their seafood buffet. We had the buffet, but more importantly we also had the Lobster Tail. There are not many places that can cook lobster tail correctly. But, this lobster tail will rival Red Lobster any day in size and sweetness. So, if you ever wanted to try lobster tail at a decent price and fixed to perfection, give them a try.

Hey Jerry, tell the people of La Grange if they need their lower limbs cut off of any trees on their property so its out of the way for mowing season, remember that their "butcher jobs" are FREE....they need to call "Shade Tree Services" at 636-343-1212 Here's their link...http://www.stsco.net/ from their website I didn't read anything about "licensed arborists" on their site.
I am sure that was all 'made up' by Mr. Hurd, because he was TRYING to convince me of what they did, wouldn't harm the tree. He said they had to cut the trees down because Ameren only has them do this, every 5 yrs. He also said they get paid per tree. (that explains it) {Note: They were here at my place last Year}

What a JOKE they are! I drove around La Grange and can't believe the "hacking job" on the other streets here in town.

This Jay character told me the same crap that they told you, that they'll bring in (Ameren UE) Dana from the Forestry division of Ameren UE will be here on Tuesday on Pierce St., because Brandi and her neighbors don't want their trees butchered. When you call Ameren they want no part of it, and blame it all on Shade Tree Services, and then when you call S.T.S to voice your complaint, then the Shade Tree Service's supervisor blames Ameren. (go figure)

Hell, I didn't know Ameren had a forestry and conservationist dept did you? Hell, no wonder why our rates are so damn high.

Update: Jay Hurd, supervisor for Shade Tree Services came out this morning 12/29/06, at 9 a.m. to look at the damages caused by his crew yesterday. When he seen my weeping willow tree in my yard, he said "I didn't know why they did that." He also said I don't know why he would cut your lower limbs, unless he did it so you wouldn't be bothered with it while mowing." That's when I went off. I asked him what mowing has to do with ABOVE power lines. He was dumb-founded and much like his crew didn't have an answer.

I told him look at the neighbor's tree, and he said what tree, and when I pointed to the neighbor's of what's left of his tree, Mr Hurd replied "oh my God." Oh my God is right, that tree is nothing but a stub of once was a tree.

He said they are tree arborists, I about died from laughter! He could not give me a reason as to why they did what they did yesterday. But told me they would put me on a list next time to check with the owner prior to cutting and I informed him, there will be no "next time". He said he was going to take pictures, and at that point I said get your truck off my property, and told him he could take pictures from the city street.

He couldn't even make up a good enough excuse as to why they did what they did. Pretty sad.

Its funny, that Ameren blames Shade Tree Services, and Shade Tree Services blames Ameren. Pass the buck.

Next week they will be cutting along Pierce Street....so look out!

Happy Birthday to me, yeah right what a nice birthday!

Here are pictures taken today when I arrived home with my daughter at 1:05 p.m. there was a huge truck in MY drive, cutting several limbs of our walnut tree in OUR yard. My daughter couldn't even get her car in my drive so she had to drop me off in the street. One guy was in a bucket butchering trees and there was one guy standing watching the guy in the bucket. The guy standing I asked him how long he was going to be in my drive, and he said for awhile, I needed to go down to the bank and told him I needed to leave at 1:30 p.m. He asked what time it was now, and I said 1:05 p.m.

I watched out my front door of all the limbs being thrown around, from way up on top and heard a big noise as they crashed to the ground, some limbs were hitting our home, and many were near my outside water hydrant, where they landed.

At 1:25 p.m. the truck pulls out of my drive and onto the street. The two idiots running the show thought that I was "gone" for an extended period of time, when I ran to the bank and back, the idiot in the bucket truck was now butchering my willow tree in MY front yard, which has NOTHING to do with power lines, please look at the photos and PLEASE tell me WHY my bottom limbs were cut, the bottom limbs has NOTHING to do with the ABOVE power lines!!!!

I was FURIOUS when I seen this, and the IDIOT in the bucket truck had the audacity to tell me that he was going to cut the entire tree down!!!!!!!!!!! I said like hell you are. Then the idiot in the bucket doing the cutting asked me if he could cut down the neighbor's tree next to my property, I said that has NOTHING to do with me. He said how can I get a hold of them? I thought you stupid moron, you trespassed on MY property, destroyed my property, and have the balls to ask me how he can get a hold of my neighbor to gain permission to cut HIS tree down??? When I seen my lower limbs cut, I said what the hell does these lower limbs that you cut off, have to do with the ABOVE power lines?????? He just starred at me, and the other idiot that was watching him had no answer either, and I will admit I was beyond pissed off. My hydrant is now leaking from the careless limb chopper idiot in the bucket truck. I told them to get the mess cleaned up and get the hell off my property. A reminder this is NOT city property, these trees are in MY yard! I planted that willow tree, in 1998.

As you can see from the photos why didn't he trim the top? Why destroy the bottom and work your way up? Who supervises these idiots??

To the idiot standing, I said to him, what's your names, and he said I can't give you our names, I said then who are you with? He said "Shade Tree Services" out of Fenton, MO. I wrote down his truck number of "993" on the right fender, and told him I was calling AmerenUE. As soon as I said that, the idiot in the bucket lowered the bucket, and they were "packing" it up. They then moved up the street to the neighbor.

After I called AmerenUE, soon the phone was ringing, manager of Shade Tree began calling, and then a supervisor called and said he would come out tomorrow.

I fully understand when you must trim limbs etc., for power lines, but when someone is careless and does things such as this out of spite and with no respect for someone else's property that's when I become very upset! This was uncalled for, and they will be held accountable. There was absolutely no justification to cut this tree at all.

Warning, if you value your trees on your property, you better be on the lookout, for the butchers from "Shade Tree Services" on the loose in your town.
