FEBRUARY GOSSIP PAGES

The City fathers are going to push the envelope to the Gaming Commission and others March 5th at 7pm at  the Lions hall. They are getting so much flack about the police arresting everything in site and in between the river, Marion County and Clark County, that they decided to have the gaming commission come in and explain why everyone is being arrested. There is also supposed be explanations about the fire department too.

There has been some discussion as to people using the bottom road to get to Quincy. It seems that the City has sold the City streets in that area to the Gambling boat and the road is now private property. Rumor has it that a couple of guys got stuck and the police supposedly gave them a ticket for trespassing. If so, then it looks like the public road ends at the levy. You can go anywhere you want on the bottom road, but cannot go past the levy to La Grange.

I received some more email today regarding the GESTAPO raid at the Foundry. It seems the worker who got stopped and falsely accused of being intoxicated and coming from the tavern with his old foundry clothes from work on, was issued a speeding ticket. Now, in most cases with the State Patrol or County stops, the ticket gives the errant driver 30 days to pay up or appear in Court. In this case though, the ticket only gave the dangerous driver 13 days or so. SO, when the court date came and the crazed driver didn't appear as ordered "DA JUDGE" issued a bench warrant. That is when the Nazi SS sprang into action and promptly raided the foundry for this crazed, delusional, high speed, suspected drunk, who  was found and bound and handcuffed and stuffed into the police car.  If this suspected criminal had resisted just a little more, he could have demanded a head beating with the club. As it was, it is rumored that hands went to guns anyway. They do shoot horses don't they? With actions like this, any suspected bank robber is DEAD MEAT. Those little old ladies just don't know how lucky their tires were not shot out.

You people do not realize that when you have a law officer that is scared and has a gun, you are in danger. No matter how trivial the crime is. I had one tell me that he unsnaps his gun every time he walks up to a car.

When the gambling boat gets into action, it is rumored that the police will be wanting fully automatic M16s and maybe a rocket launcher for those who try to run. These officers have to be protected from the public.

One other item, a Mr. Ron Welch is looking for info on a relative. CLICK HERE

FEBRUARY 27, 2001

Rumor has it that Hizzoner, Martini, Weasel, and a couple more are trying to find an Attorney to sue me for the Gossip Page. It seems the Police Chief feelings are getting hurt and has ordered them to do something. Well, the rumor also says they tried to find an Attorney in Lewis County and Marion County and was last seen going to Kirksville. Little do they now that this is what I have been trying to get them to do all along. Now, I will get to force them into depositions as to what happened to all that money, Project Brighter Future, the Flood Relief, and even personal finances. I can ask all kinds of questions with interrogatories, depositions and production of documents. The last time I was sued, I got to find out all about the people's sex life. The Division of Family Services tried me on for size a few years ago and we went to Court 27 times in 4 different Counties and the Missouri Appellate Court. The State spent over $150,000.00 and never got anywhere. People, when I get done, you will get to know everything there is to know about the Mayor, these Councilmen, the police chief, everything including finances and sex lives. And, they will have to disclose everything under oath and not get to lie about anything. I love a good lawsuit, I only have one other going at the time that I filed against my long distance service for $50,000.00. Even that one is taking too little of my time. I am impatiently waiting for the first paper work to get started. The Gossip page has been getting a little stale anyhow and maybe this will give me more fodder.

On the City side it is rumored that the Mayor is pulling every trick in the book to stop the Council from getting a City Administrator. It looks like his buddy Steve is doing all he can to derail it too. The election date isn't coming soon enough.

FEBRUARY 26, 2001

Just when you think the police are coming around to the idea that La Grange is a small town and not New York City, they prove you wrong. Rumor is, that an officer clocked two senior citizens leaving town at 80 MPH. Now, I know these ladies and they have trouble getting up to 50 on a good day. Then, it goes on that the officer pursued these ladies on a high speed pursuit of 45 miles an hour almost to Canton before he got these two ladies to stop gabbing and notice they were involved in this HIGH SPEED pursuit. Rumor has it that they got a speeding ticket. 187 people who voted for the Mayor really have to be tickled to death about this. When will this total insanity of harassing the people of La Grange stop?

Even today, I was taking my granddaughter to school, I came down the hill and turned South on 4th street. I started up the hill and within a little more than a block, I was stopping to pick up two of my grand daughters friends and the police car behind me turned his radar gun on me twice. I was going less than 10 miles and hour and he used the radar gun twice, and the last one was while I was braking to stop to pick up her friends. When will this total insanity of harassing the people of La Grange stop?

When will the totally blank brained City Council put a stop to the City Police going out of the City limits?

FEBRUARY 25. 2001

It has been a couple of days since the last update. Not much has happened, even the Street Super took another Friday off. Rumor has it there was some kind of a fight out Route C the other night.

So, since there is little City business, here is a couple of other items. Whereas, My wife and I eat out a lot, we try to eat a different place each time. The only place we don't go is the Abby, we don't like to interfere with City Council business. Anyhow, we ended up at Sprouts with another couple and we all ordered something different. Since I remembered how the Boat House fixed catfish, that is what I ordered. When our orders came out, the catfish still had blood in the middle. Now, if that had happened at the Boat House, dad would have fixed a new fish. Sprouts just stuck it in the microwave. You can guess what rubber tastes like.

Item two. Toilet paper. It used to be with the old toilets that held a lot of water, it didn't matter what kind of toilet paper you used, there was enough water and force to flush a Sears and Roebuck catalog. Now, with the new 1.6 gallon toilets, more than 3 sheets of two ply and you call the plumber. SO, it seems the best toilet paper today for these new fangled toilets is the cheapest single ply you can buy.

I received a notice that the first Lions Club Fish Fry is going to be a fund raiser for the La Grange Community Youth Center. Those guys at Lions Club do more than their fair share of fund raising for the Community. Who knows what the Chamber of Commerce does with their money besides buying plaques to give each other. No one has ever heard of the La Grange Revitalization Organization doing or donating anything either. After being pressed by Andy Ayers, the City Council now donates a couple of hundred a year to the Youth Center. And of course, everyone seems to know what Country received all the Project Brighter Future Money (which wasn't to save our school) and the Flood Relief Money. That brings us back to item two.

It seems that the new police officers are working hard to work WITH the community. Besides the fingerprint offer, I have heard of other things these guys are working on to improve the relations between the police department and the people of the town. You people really need to have breakfast at the Driftwood and get to know these guys.

FEBRUARY 21. 2001

The La Grange Police Department have decided to help you protect your child. They are working with the La Grange Lutheran Church to provide a place and service for you to take your child and have a professionally fingerprint taken of your child for you to save. A copy of the child's fingerprints and then pictures should be taken from all four sides once every year and all birth marks, moles, ect., should be noted. Based on personal experience, your child can be taken at any time without your knowledge. DFS illegally did this three times that I know of and it took a lot of legal work to even find out what happened. All it takes is one pissed off person to call the child abuse hotline and make any ridiculous false accusation you can think of and without any investigation into the terminally ill person, ( in this case, there were and are two terminally ill people),  they snatch your child from you and brand you as a criminal without any charges filed in a court of law against you.

And now on a lighter note. I noticed in the Press News Journal that has printed the latest La Grange Court cases. It looks like the Logsdon family has done their part in donating to our finest.

Let's see now, two members of the La Grange Fire Department and others are taking an all expense vacation to Caruthersville to seek information on how to fight a gambling boat fire that has never happened. Sounds like a good excuse to me.

And then, I thought that the fireman dinner was to honor past firemen, but it seems it became a Chamber of Commerce dinner where they toasted each other and gave each other awards. Boy, do La Grange organizations do this well. Rumors has it that the two remaining members of the La Grange Revitalization Organization are planning a dinner for the members at Red Lobster in St. Charles to honor each other.

FEBRUARY 19, 2001

Did you see the hatchet job WGEM did on Andy Ayers Sunday Evening. Andy, here is some sound advice, DO NOT EVER GIVE AN INTERVIEW TO THE TV STATIONS. They only want to create problems, not report the news. If they contact you again, tell them to get screwed.

The Mayor made a statement that said that the now the Gaming Commission has ordered the City to hire 10 or more officers. I will find out whether that is a lie or not. The Mayor didn't tell anyone that the police on the gambling boat would have a MULES system, yet the Chief wants one too. WHY? Who does he want to run background checks on? You?

It seems to be a great thing that the officers are meeting the people, but I can sense that is coming to an end. I did notice that one officer this morning was doing it right. He was posted about a block north of the old Imperial gas station, yet he was out in the open. Doing what the people want, to protect and to serve. Not harass, trap and arrest.

Rumor has it that there is or will be a sexual harassment suit filed. Anyone else know anything?

FEBRUARY 17, 2001

Above, I placed a notice so you can get MCI to pay you $75.00. Just log onto the site and fill out the application claim form. You could have been subscribed, you might have used their dial around service, you might have used their directory assistance, you might have received a collect call. MCI doesn't know everyone who used their service during this time as their records have been purged.

And now, rumor has it that another new police officer, named Robert, has been found willing to catch a speeder with his radar and let the person off with a warning. How can the City luck out and find (3) good cops not out to cause the citizens hardships.

Then, he too came into the coffee shop and ran into a mountain of questions and talk and I believe he really enjoyed meeting the people. It seems that whenever these police officers visit the coffee shop it quickly becomes standing room only. How quickly we come from a Gestapo Police Force, to a protect and to serve police department. These guys are catching on quickly.

Pretty soon, some entrepreneur is going to come up with a bumper sticker for local cars, so the police will be able to tell the locals from all those gamblers.

FEBRUARY 16, 2001

I went to Quincy today and I was told a joke. It went like this, La Grange gets all the crime and corruption and Canton gets all the new businesses, hotel and jobs.

Now, it seems there is a lot of pressure on the City getting a MULES reporting system. So I did some checking on my own. I went to the source, the Missouri Highway Patrol. Here are my question and the answers I received. This was done by email.

Jerry Brandt wrote:

I sorry to bother you with a couple of questions. The reason I ask these questions is the Gambling boat seems to think the City of La Grange needs a mules system. In talking to one of the officers, he said that he would like the city to get one as it would make his job safer. I agree.

>I'm not sure I agree. If it was a riverboat security employee, I would have to make certain he/she had the >authority to access the information. If the source is one of our Troopers on the boat, the necessary >equipment and access is provided by the Gaming Commission. <NOTICE THIS LAST SENTENCE MAYOR> my underling and notice....

My problem is, certain public officials, attempted to do a FBI back ground check on me because they didn't want me as Mayor. In securing my FBI files, I did find where someone falsely accused me of telephone wiretapping of which the FBI found false. I later found that the reason was, they wanted to be able to get any information they could on me and use the FBI to do it. NOW, If they would do that to me, an elected Mayor of La Grange (3) times, what would stop the Chief from using the MULES system to just rummage around and bring up any and all information he wanted on anyone in town?? And then use it against them or other??

>Believe me this is not the first time I have heard of attempted abuses of Criminal History information. It >seems politics in smaller communities can get real nasty. I we become aware, or detect such abuses >utilizing our MULES system, we deal with it in a swift and certain manner. We do not enjoy "Policing the >Police" but like the FBI find ourselves in that position from time to time and know that is part of our >mission. We are the keepers of the system and we would answer to the FBI if problems got out of hand.

>The MULES system consists of a group of database applications and a gateway to other systems, >mostly criminal justice in nature.

Would you tell what other databases the MULES system can access?

>Except MO DOR they are criminal justice in nature, such as our wanted persons and stolen property. Mo >Department of Corrections and Probation and Parole, at their request, has their database queried on >each wanted person check and advises the inquiring terminal if there is a match. They do this to make >sure their clients are where they should be at the time of the inquiry. i.e.: A person under house arrest, >should not be returning from some social activity at 2am.

>Most of the data in MULES is public record such as persons with outstanding warrants for their arrest >and entries on stolen vehicles or property. In addition to criminal justice systems, access is also >provided to the Missouri Department of Revenue system, restricted to driver license and vehicle >registration files.

>Without doubt, the most sensitive information made available is the contents of our Criminal History >Repository (CHR) database, most of which is public record. The only non public records in the CHR are >those cases where arrests were made that were not later supported by conviction.

What about people put in the registry for child abuse?

>There is a Sex offender registry. Data from this registry may soon be on the internet for public access if >certain advocate groups prevail (I am not sure whether that is bad or good but we will comply with the >legislation as signed into law).

>Use of this 'closed record' information is strictly restricted. CHR inquiries via a MULES terminal can only >be made for Criminal Justice Investigative purposes or Criminal Justice Employment.

Besides running common license and registration, which is done by calling Macon on the radio, what other reason would the La Grange Police Department need one?

>The frequency of checks will increase and we would hope increase the safety of your community by >catching more bad guys and recovering more stolen property.

>We have stringent system rules in place and conduct periodic terminal agency audits to assure >compliance to those rules. We have had isolated incidents where, after our investigation, agencies have >lost their MULES access privileges.

Has anyone who abused the system ever been charged with a crime?

>I am not aware of anyone being charged with a crime but some have lost their jobs. While I am not at >liberty to disclose any details, personnel in our own agency have been disciplined for abuses both as >terminal operators and as officers. We take this very seriously.

The biggest problem I have is the possibility of the La Grange Chief of Police abusing the system for his own gain. Whereas, the State will provide one for the gambling boat FREE, then all this hoopla about the City getting one should be moot. No need for two systems in town. If even with all this information, the City Council still wants to spend over $300 per month, $3,600 per year for a duplicate MULES system, it is hoped that they are intelligent to appoint someone, hopefully someone outside of the City administration or employee to oversee this potentially damaging operation. AND HOPEFULLY, this person can be a City Administrator that has the education and integrity to oversee it all.

One last item on investigations. I heard that the Gambling boat people ran background investigations on all the Councilmen and Mayor. Did they do it on all the candidates running for office?

YET, the Mayor and City Council have no idea what the background is on Bill Grace or the officers of his corporation or anything about the company that loaned the boat the money. No that, people, is being real smart. 187 people have to be tickled to death.

FEBRUARY 15, 2001

Rumor has it that the Fire Chief took most of the firemen on an all expense paid trip to Jefferson City last week. While most of the firemen were enjoying themselves, there was a fire and it was left up to the "Lieutenant"  (locker room Jim Ellison) to respond to the fire. Now, rumor has it that when the Chief got back from the all expenses paid vacation, he decided the "underling" did not know how to put out a fire and took several firemen and two trucks and went back out to the fire location and "neatly cleaned up after the fire". Thanks to all the rural residents paying double fees, the Chief can decide to do things like this and create more income. Well, you have to feel sorry as he has lost a business and needs the money. Just like Mike Lowe and others need the money enough to violate the laws that state you cannot hold an elective office and pay yourself for an appointed position. Mike Lowe will accept any and all donations as will Martini and Weasel.

The Councilmen that vote to allow the Chief to have the MULES system are doing so as they want to also be able to run background checks ON YOU. Any Councilman who votes to allow this Chief to have that information is voting to take away all YOUR PRIVACY.

Some of the Councilmen cannot believe that the Engineering firm would recommend a study just to feather their own nest. So dumb. Can you remember when we had a school full of kids? A meat locker? Pete's, Coaches, the Tap room. And the Foundry was Gardner Denver? All that time we had this same sewer plant. The meat locker used several hundred thousand gallons per month, Gardner Denver used millions more per month than they do now.

Today. The School, Pete's, Coaches, Tap Room, the Meat Locker, grocery store, hardware store, are all gone. Thousands of gallons of sewer usage, GONE. The Foundry, by recycling cut usage by millions of gallons.

NOW, the gambling boat is coming with what? A measly 27 stools and the dumb Mayor and Council want to spend MILLIONS to build a NEW sewer plant. 187 people have to be tickled to death.

February 14, 2001

Happy Valentines day. The news media. What a joke. Mark Magliara acts so dumb some times. But, knowing how they twist things, it is a wonder.

Anyhow, I am going to have to bite my tongue again. At the latest Council Meeting a lot of crap was brought up and most all the Council fell head over heals, well except one. Tim Rossiter. This guy seems to be the only one who can see through the crap the Mayor, Police Chief and Fire Chief spoon feed the Council. Martini and Weasel are coming on strong to be the Bill Clintons of La Grange and force so much down the throats of the people of La Grange and the NEW Council coming in.

Councilman Rossiter was the one who came up with the idea of granting credits on your gas bill. NOT the Mayor Clinton as reported. And the Council voted to hire another dispatcher from out of town again, and only Rossiter voted against it.

For some reason, the Mayor and Police Chief are trying to force a $330.00 per month Mule System where the Police Chief can run all kinds of reports on every man - woman - and child in La Grange or anywhere without YOUR knowledge. This will only be used to gather dirt on everyone in town. And the people of La Grange will suffer. THANKS MARTINI AND WEASEL and MIKE LOWE.

Let's see Mayor and Police Chief had a nice vacation at Caruthersville to visit their boat and now the FIRE Chief and three other people are getting an al expense paid vacation. Talk about sucking the life out of the town. The Fire Chief wants to thank MARTINI and WEASEL again for their generosity of your money.

THEN, the council talked about the sewer plant. HELLO? is anybody home????  Let's see now, WE DID have a school of 500 people, all using the toilets all day. WE DID have a foundry using 10 times the amount of water than they use today. WE DID have more businesses in town using more sewerage than we have to day.

THAT is all gone now. The sewerage usage is a whole lot smaller than a few years ago. AND NOW, the Mayor and MARTINI AND WEASEL want to spend more money to build a NEW sewer plant because of the Gambling boat.

Their reason????  They think they maybe, just maybe, someone later MAY want to build a motel, and the sewer plant MAY NOT, be able to handle the load. So, they want to stick it to the people of La Grange.

187 people are tickled to death with THEIR mayor and Martini and Weasel.

Finally, the people really like the idea of being able to talk to a police officer in the restaurant. But, I can see that with all the info these officers are getting about what the people think, that the Chief will put a stop to it soon.

February 12, 2001

Just when you thought you had it all right, and you have it pegged, something comes along all screws it all up. Events this past week and especially this weekend have prodded me to offer an apology the police officers of the City. First off, Officer Shawn Ott has shown an interest in the Youth Center and attended the dance last week and worked with the kids. I think that was a great gesture on his part and I hope he continues this. Then, at the Youth Center open house, I got to meet him personally and talk and he has a sensible attitude about police protection.

AND THEN, this morning both Shawn Ott and Shawn Hydron attended to coffee club at the Driftwood. This was a refreshing site. They joined the main table and joined in all the talking and took a lot of good natures ribbing from some of the patrons. This is the way the police department should be. Hats off to the two.

AND FINALLY, last Saturday evening while going home and driving through town, I came up behind the Police Chief. I flashed my headlights to see who was ahead of me. The police car pulled over in the parking area of the old Imperial gas station. After I went past and around the corner towards home the Police car came tearing around the corner after me with all lights flashing and blazing. The Chief came up to my truck and requested my drivers license and then came back and informed me that it was not proper to flash my headlights at a car in front of me and could cause an accident by blinding the driver. It was very refreshing to have an officer that was nice and courteous and instructive, rather than one out to write tickets. He was nice enough to let me off with a warning.

Most people know about no love lost with a Brandt and a Rossiter. I thought that when Tim was elected he was in over his head and it would be a big mistake. Here again, just when you think you got everything pegged, something comes along and upsets the apple cart. From what I have been reading in the minutes of the past Council Meetings, (bite my tongue),  Tim Rossiter clearly is showing that he is quickly becoming the most intelligent Councilman. I believe that the two Councilmen of the North Ward should sit up and take notice and get on Tim's band wagon and follow him instead of Martini and Weasel. Failure to do so quickly will probably result in a new Councilman in the North Ward come next election.

Finally, if everyone I have talked to or exchanged emails with, votes for Andy Ayers. He will be a shoe in. Andy seems to be getting his act together rather strongly. I have talked to a lot of people around town and everyone has told me they were voting for Andy for Mayor.

Rumor has it that the Gambling boat is building a new parking lot strictly for women only. Whereas, it seems that women get mugged in parking lots, this new one will have women parking attendants. Here is a picture of the new parking lot.  CLICK HERE

February 8, 2001

Well now, I have got something no one else in town has. Only me and President Bush has one. I now get a police escort whenever I drive around town. I know they do this to protect me from carjackers and the like.

And now, I would like to post an email I got this morning. I always love to reprint the emails from the supporters of the Mayor for you to see what they have to say. I clip them out exactly as they sent them to me, misspelled words and all. I do not do this to people who send me their emails wanting to do things right in town and support what is right. What is in between (   ) is my reply to the ramblings.

Return-Path:    h_gecko@hotmail.com   Received: from hotmail. (Their email address.)

You just can't help yourself can you ? You just don't seem to be able to resist causing trouble. It amazes me that anyone would take anything you say to heart. It is so completely obvious that you use the gossip page to make up whatever you like ,

just so you can stick your tounge out at whoever you don't like. You attack the police department for simply doing their job...

(most everything stated came from other people who want it posted)

would you rather that they only stop people that do not live in this town? Are they supposed to pick and choose who they should stop? Maybe you would prefer that they just never stop you or any of your friends. Maybe that would make you happy.

(What would make me happy and all the others who tell about these antics is that they want to be left alone to go about their business without being pulled over for something)

Aren't the police here to protect the people of this town even from themselves if need be? You accuse them of having "Gestapo tactics" , yet the only person I have seen with such tactics is you. You are a rumor monger and an all out liar.

(pick out something that is a lie)

I have also noticed and I hope everyone else has too , that as the election for Mayor gets closer, suddenly everything you talk about is a big conspiracy started by the mayor.

(I cannot and did not say it is a big conspiracy started by the Mayor, first you have to be smart enough to construct a conspirarcy. The Mayor cannot see the harm being done to the town by allowing the police free reign.)

To me this just says that you are acting like a big baby because you aren't the mayor. I haven't seen such juvinille behavior since I was in higschool. It seems that no matter what happens in this town, you are never happy. You wanted more police protection, then gripe about it when it comes.

(There is no place that shows that I ever wanted more police protection. In my four years of Mayor before, the only thing I required was an officer on duty from dusk to dawn to PROTECT the town from thefts and vandalism, never as a Gestapo police department)

You promoted the boat , (Where have you ever seen anything where I promoted the boat) then have nothing good to say about it when it comes.

(The boat hasn’t got here yet, and I have stated before and will say again, If a gambling boat is all the City of La Grange can get, then so be it. It will not make me any money, nor will it take any of my money, I don’t drink and I don’t gamble, well except if it has a GOOD restaurant.)

Some of the emails I get like this have spelling and grammar so poor that I have a hard time making out what they are trying to say. I would have to say that this person went to Highland.

SNEAKY SNAKE GESTAPO

Rumor has it that Marlo Slater is aiding and abetting the Gestpo by letting them hide in her driveway and arrest people at the 7th and Route C stop sign. Rumor has it that two senior citizens from the center were stopped, one chased all the way down the hill to Main street and up main street. That ought to make anyone wanting to volunteer to help the senior citizens stop volunteering. BUT, Hizzoner and Martini and Weasel and Lowely are tickled to death, and 187 voters are so proud.

If that weren't enough, another volunteer delivering meals to people around town was stopped ILLEGALY north of the foundry and given a ticket. BUT, Hizzoner and Martini & Weasel & Lowely are tickled to death, and 187 voters are so proud. The reason I say ILLEGALLY, is the City Ordinance and the speed limit signs are not together. The Chief has been screwing the public with the 40 mph sign placed in the wrong place for a long time.

AND NOW, I hear that Steve Griesbaum is trying to make the requirements to be City manager so low that even a dummy could pass. Rumor has it he is trying to make it dumb enough to allow the present Mayor to apply and maybe Maritini or Weasel to apply for the job.

One of the requirements was that the applicant has to live in the City. Even though he presented a plausible requirement of being a graduate of an accredited university or college majoring in public or municipal administration, he added the dumbing down clause (or equivalent of experience in related fields). Steve, you are so transparent, you ought to be a piece of glass. Why didn't you just say that maybe a past Mayor or Councilman could be the City Administrator.

I cannot believe you would not want someone who is intelligent and has the required education to manage the City. Why do you want to screw the people who voted you in? Are you that dumb?

I cannot believe that the new police officers, one being a former highway patrolman are allowing themselves to be put in these stupid positions. Are they not smart enough to know how the Chief is manipulating them to harass the very people they are to protect and SERVE?

I also had an email asking me to ask the Chief about this person  CLICK HERE

February 6, 2001

Are you tired of all those telemarketers calling you trying to sell you something or badger you for a donation? Well, the State of Missouri has help, and if you do it right, you can collect big money from these harassers. Contact the Missouri Attorney Generals Office by calling their Toll Free number 1-866-662-2551 and put your phone numbers on the State of Missouri "Don not Call List". Then when a telemarketer calls you, just get their name and phone number and inform the caller that you are on the State of Missouri do not call list. Note the date and time of the call in a note book. Keep track of each telemarkerter call and when one calls back the second time. You can collect big bucks. The good thing about this, the telemarkerters play the game that you will not remember then calling once before and take the chance. The odds are in your favor.

THE MAYORS GESTAPO AT WORK

Rumor has it that on Saturday evening a person who was in Double G decided to go home. Being afraid that he would be ARRESTED for drunk driving, he sat in his vehicle on private property waiting for a friend to come out and drive him home. It was a cold evening, so he started the vehicle to get warm while waiting and fell asleep. The Mayor's GESTAPO came by, got the man out of the truck, and promptly arrested the man for being drunk in public. My My, isn't that a good way to PROTECT and to SERVE. Those 187 voters are just tickled to death that the Mayor, Harold Ludwig wants his GESTPO to arrest everyone in town. Everyone should call and Bless the Mayor and Martini & Weasel & Lowely.

Rumor has it another person was arrested for DWI while sitting on the Bank's parking lot with no motor running and no keys in the ignition. The Mayor Harold Ludwig is just tickled to death for all these arrests, so they can pay for the Gestapo protection the City doesn't need. Take a look at the Council Meeting minutes to see what the Gambling Boat people have to say about all this Gestapo protection the Mayor, and Martini & Weasel are forcing on the City.

Another rumor has it that the Chief and an Indian Stopped a resident who has lived here over 20 years without a ticket, and gave this person a ticket for not coming to a COMPLETE HARD STOP at a City stop sign. AND the Mayor and Martini & Weasel & Lowely are tickled to death.

February 5, 2001

Monday is getting to be a busy day for the City. The Police Chief is out riding around with an indian, teaching him how to arrest another taxpayer. The Street Super is out in the dump truck riding around looking busy. One water department employee is busy cleaning the sewer plant up while the other is standing around with their hands in their pockets trying to keep warm.

Nina Painter has made it back to town from her trip to Florida and Kansas City. And Dottie is planning to leave to go to Texas.

In regards to the Mayor of Canton cleaning up the town. It seems he will pick on the little people, but when it comes to a Janney, he backs off big time. Just go ahead and let that old building half torn down stay there and all the junk buildings around it and down the street. I would like to see him have his cops arrest Robert and put him in jail. Fretwell can harass other people in town, but he knows better than to mess with a Janney. Just a mention of that and Fretwell can move to Alaska.

Well, someone was smart enough to keep the police off the streets Saturday during the pancake and sausage day. Who knows how many supporters would have gotten a ticket.

Gregg and Gunsals and Lowe were out riding around in all the fire trucks Saturday. I guess they wanted everyone to see the new/old fire truck.

In the Quincy paper today there is an article about Canton, where the Mayor will have Strangers who have cats or dogs running at large subject to euthanasia, or killed. Speaking of Canton. It seems that their police chief is a twin to ours. Three Sunday mornings before 7 am in a row, the police have been setting on the South end of town running radar.

The La Grange Community Youth Center had an excellent turn out of kids to the dance last night. It is a shame that more parents and citizens of La Grange don't do more to support it. You would have thought that with the tax credits, the Local Bank would have been greatly involved. But no.

I have received several comments and emails the past few days. Here is one

Dear Friends,
This year, the La Grange Community Youth Center celebrates 11 years of making a difference in the lives of our young people in Lewis County
and the surrounding area. We continue to offer them a safe, supervised activities, enrichments classes, drug and alcohol education, besides a
place to hang out and play pool, ping pong, video games, or just visit with friends and enjoy a soda and chips from the snack bar. We are
particularly excited about our new Teen Angel Program, which pairs adult mentor with our youth. All our important work at the Youth Center is
made possible because of the support from local businesses, organizations, churches and friend. All those that work at the center, including the supervisors and the director are volunteers.

This month, the La Grange Community Youth Center begins its Annual Fund Drive to raise money to pay for our annual operating expenses.
To pay for this year's rent, electricity, gas and supplies, we must raise $7000.

On Sunday, Feb.11, we will host our annual open house from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. We hope you'll join us to learn more about the educational--as
well as fun-activities that our kids have been involved with at the Youth Center. If you can't come to the center, then visit us on our web page.

Megan, a 16 year young lady created and updates the web site for us.
Won't you give to this year's Annual Fund Drive so the Youth Center can continue to provide the guidance and support that will help our kids
in Lewis County and the surrounding area grow into successful, contributing members of our community. We can only do it with YOUR help.
Please don't say what are THEY going to do, ask yourself what can I DO TO HELP.

Contribution may be sent to: La Grange Community Youth Center, P.O. Box 381, La Grange, Missouri 63448. If you have any questions, you may call

Next I have had several emails about Councilman Rossiter. And it is not often and certainly not my idea to praise Mr. Rossiter, BUT, I have been told that he voted against hiring dispatchers who do not live in La Grange. It seems that one applicant that was not hired lived in town. It is too bad Mike and Roger can't walk the walk. Who will the follow around when the Weasel & Martini aren't there to pull their leash.

Then, on the police. Several comments came in saying that they hope that the two new ones are able to stand on their own two feet and stand up for what is right. One of the for instances was, that if a car coming into town and slowing down, but still a couple of miles hour over the limit, The officer should recognize that the car is slowing which is what the law requires and let it go at that.

Based on the Chiefs point of view, the Highway Patrolman that came down the town hill this morning at 8am and came to a oozing stop at the light should have been given a ticket. just like the foundry worked did one morning at 4 am did and got a ticket.

Well, tomorrow is Pancake day, can't wait. Rumor has it that the Weasel has changed his mind?, about running for councilman again. Rumor has it that he doesn't think Sam Henderson will be a good Councilman. And I heard that John Stiffy is planning to run as a write-in, in the middle ward. WHY? From all the emails and phone calls, I believe that Andy Ayers will be our next Mayor. Even those who called me that were not going to support Andy were changing their mind when they got off the phone. I cannot fo rthe life of me see why anyone would not vote for Andy over Harold.

I hear that the Council voted for two dispatchers from out of town. I don't understand that either. Any way they can, Weasel & Martini will continually violate the Charter and City Ordinances. Until they are completely gone, the City of La Grange may never get a gambling boat license. The Weasel should just go back to his hole where he came from.

It is hard for me to believe that anyone who drinks and drunk and smokes in front of and subjects their children to second hand smoke can be considered roll models.

Talk around town is that the two new police officers look like they are good people. But, almost everyone who has made that comment or one similar hope that they will not be snookered by the chief and stand up for what is right, rather than what the chief wants. It will be interesting.

Those who believe that the City will need an intelligent City manager with degrees in City Administration and Municipal Planning should contact Tim Rossiter and offer him your support. You should also be looking to vote for Andy Ayers. Otherwise, you may see the gambling boat money being blown away.

PS: StupidRus has not recontacted me thanking me for posting his email.
