When the old owner of the foundry had me watch it for me, I kept the LAPD from using the foundry property to hide and run radar against the people of La Grange. The LAPD called and harassed the owner continually trying to make him allow them to go onto the foundry property. What for? There was no reason except they wanted to harass him to let them. But, he was smart enough to keep saying no.
When the new owner took over, I decided not to work for him. I now see that the LAPD has badgered the new owner into allowing them to "patrol" and "protect" the foundry property. They got the barricades removed and now they drive all over the parking lots. Sooner or later the new owner will find he made a mistake. Sooner or later.
The Mark Twain Casino will close tonight at 6pm and will reopen tomorrow morning at 8am with a new owner.
The LAPD was out in force this morning with two cars patrolling the city looking for the bad guys. Burning gas. It makes you wonder who the dummy is that puts two cars and two officers on at the same time to spend the money.
It used to be, before this post master, that you could go to the post office and get your mail at 8am. The post master took pride in getting the mail up for the citizens. Then the mail didn't get put up until 8:30 and then 9am and then 9:30 and now the mail isn't up until after 10am. Makes one wonder why some postal employees can get the mail up early and the other can't seem to get it up at all. Then you go into the Post Office and one sign says the mail isn't up until 9:30am. (well now 10am) and the sign on the door says the office is closed at 9:15. So how do they close up BEFORE the mail is up. Can't the Postal Service find someone willing to get up in the morning?

Makes one wonder who is thinking what. A drive around town will find one street not cleaned. Right in front of the Mayor's home. Wonder why. Yet, a snowplow went up my hill and all the way to the back of my place. Well, I guess that was the only place they could easily turn around. Thank You.
An emailer said that a fat cop run him off the river front park. The place he described was not even Triangle property. But, even if he was on Triangle beach property, the person, if arrested, could have easily sued the city and won as the contracts with Triangle were signed by a forger and have no merit. But, the City attorney will make a few bucks defending the City.

Well, the COPS were out in full FORCE last night. Did very well stopping all the casino goers. This morning, the people woke up to SNOW. A lot of snow. At 6:30 am the City shed was dark, not a sole around. People were trying to get around the best they could. City City Public Works Directors house was dark and he was in dreamland. Then the house of the City Administrator was also dark as he was all snuggled in his bed. BUT, when I got to Canton, they had half the town already plowed. But, by 7:30, the La Grange City crew was out plowing snow. It looks like the ONLY city employee that is out in the morning looking things over and wanting to do something is Eisenbeis. Why don't they make him in charge of snow removal at his discretion?

Thursday evening, not much going on around town, the casino has a few, but not overflowing. Traffic is nil. And guess what, someone put two cops on in two cars. Can you even imagine how much it cost the people of La Grange in wear and tear on two cars idling around town and the wages of two cops to ride around? How about $225.00 per day, 7 days a week.
How many of you watched "Dirty War"? A movie about the terrorists setting of a dirty bomb in England. Does anyone it town besides me have dosimeter? Does the city have any radiation detectors? The good thing is La Grange is 150 miles from any major city.

THE COUNCIL WANTS A MAYOR THAT SAYS AND DOES NOTHING. THE REASON MR. MURPHY ONLY RUN ONE TERM HE HAD
ENOUGH. WHEN YOU STOOD UP TO THEM, BOOM YOU WERE GONE, WHEN MR LUDWIG SPOKE UP THEY SPANKED HIM. NOW THE SAME WITH ROSSITER HE STOOD UP TO ENSOR AND HE'S BEEN SPANKED EVER SINCE. NOW THEY HAVE THE CANDIDATE THEY HAND PICKED. SOMEONE THAT WILL JUST
SiT THERE AND LET ED AND RITA RUN THE CITY IN TO THE GROUND. LET ROSSITER PUT HER IN HER PLACE AND CONTINUE MOVING THE TOWN IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION WITH SOME NEW COUNCILMAN. I ALSO KNOW SEVERAL THAT VOTED FOR RITA TWO YEARS AGO THAT WILL VOTE NO TO HER THIS TIME MAYBE SHE SHOULD DROP OUT OF THE RACE BEFORE SHE IS EMBARRASSED
A NEW RUMOR
A new rumor hit the Gossip page today. The rumor is about a green car with a spotlight on it. It seems the driver had a little too much singing and needed to call someone to drive the little green car. I guess it was spreading the city good will around.
EMAILS
Jerry, I knew they were a bunch of weenies.
Jerry, Who do these cops think they are? When is the council going to make a stand, or are they scared of the cops?
Jerry, Do you think Rita will get re-elected, I don't, I know five of us who voted for her that won't this time.
Jerry, I heard that the City administrator is not a US citizen, is that right? Does he have a green card? I'll bet the council never even asked. Where is all this grant money he was supposed to be a professional at getting? I searched the net and found where he came from, but no one there will acknowledge his existence, Why? Did he provide any references? Can I see them at City Hall? How much is he getting paid?
Jerry, can I still run as a write-in. I want to make sure someone doesn't get in.
Jerry, Whose stupid idea is it to buy a new backhoe? I have seen the old one and it looks ok to me and some of the other workers say that there isn't anything wrong that can't be fixed less than the numbers I see on the web site. They also say that there is favoritism being played by the boss. Is the black one being slighted? And, who was the dumb idiot that wanted to buy a tractor that won't run a sweeper? Was it the Public Works Director? Yeah, I know.
Jerry, just tell me who these councilmen want for Mayor, they didn't want you before and don't want you now because they know you did and will do the right thing, they don't want Tim, and they impeached Harold. Who the hell do they want?
Jerry, is the $50,000 going to Jamaica too? What is wrong with the Chamber Officers? Why do they hate the Scouts? Why doesn't the City give the old city hall to the chamber for the scouts and get them out of that old building? How come the Chamber won't support the Scouts anymore? What is the matter with those people? Are they just dumb or stupid?
January 25, 2005
The great idea of the impeachment by certain people conspiring to get rid of the Mayor was thwarted by the glaring light of the gossip page. They thought they had it all hush hush, but nothing is a secret to the gossip page. But, the snakes were in the back, coiled and ready to strike, but the glances back and forth couldn't connect. In the end, it came down to what it should have been. Just be careful what you do Mayor. But, Steve Griesbaum wasn't connecting with the glances back and forth and didn't get the message and tried to impose a stupid rule.
On the rest of the Council meeting, Rev. Mimms gave an excellent prayer. The council heard from a couple of ladys about the city insurance problems. Past Mayor Harold Ludwig wanted to put this years boat races on the calendar for the last weekend in July.
I noticed the whole police department was there at the Council meeting, I was wondering if the city was paying them to attend, then it came up that the council was given 3 choices of hw to pay the officers for holidays. If I was Mayor, I would have table it a few months, if not veto any decision, just because of the perceived intimidation by the cops. In the vote, Rita rightly opposed the vote.
The City has decided to put the old City Hall up for bids. Whereas, the officers of the La Grange AREA Chamber of Commerce are too stupid to take it for the Chamber and the Scouts, it will be lost. It is too bad we have a Chamber President intent on the destruction of the Chamber and the City. Oh, he also the President of the La Grange Betterment Committee that has $50,000 to do something with, that he has never called a meeting since the first one. Good Show Ken Scheutz. When are you going to retire and go away?
Council woman Elaine White suggested that the city administrator move $17,000 of the money received from Schutte to parks. Hummm?? The she suggested to split workman's comp to respective departments. Hummm??? Again. Then it came to me, the city administrator fed this to her to make her look like she knew what was going on.. He finished up with the explanation of how and why on these transfers. Scared me. I thought she got smart in the last two weeks.
The Council talked about Tom Dickerson house, but he signed up to the grant the city administrator has been touting for weeks now. Hmmmm, wonder what happened to the grant for sewer plant, or the parks grant, or the sewer line to the factory grant.
Ed Ensor got his way again and the Council was suckered into buying a new backhoe. What I thought was going to be a suggestion to get bids only to find he already had some bids, (who knows how that was done) and the council took the lowest Bid Ed found???
In the end, Steve Griesbuam stated that anything the Mayor put on the website should be for the benefit of the city. Translation, it means to benefit him and the council and NOT the people of La Grange.

IMPEACH THE MAYOR
At the Monday night Council Meeting, rumors are the City Administrator and Rita-Farr Cox are going to provoke a vote to IMPEACH Mayor Rossiter. When I first came on this information, I thought it was a joke. What on earth had Mayor Rossiter done? Well, in the rumor, it seems that Rita-Farr Cox has deemed that the Mayor has overstepped her line of ethics. After questioning around, I found that he had put on the city website a poll in which he asked, who would you vote for today for Mayor. GASP!
Now, here is the most sneakiest person on earth, that sneaks around with City employees and talks and plots behind the Mayor's back, and does everything she can do to undermine anything the Mayor proposes and now SHE, wants him impeached for ethics?? This has got to be the biggest joke on the people of La Grange that has EVER been pulled.
And talk about ethics? How about she and the City Administrator waited and tried to keep this a secret so THE PEOPLE OF LA GRANGE are not notified of their back stabbing underhanded attack. The people of the Middle ward should make sure that she is never re-elected to the City Council for this UNETHICAL attack.
For the City Administrator to be involved in this partisan, he should RESIGN immediately and leave town. If nothing else, the Mayor should put the City Administrator in his place as a SERVANT of the City and the Mayor and he is NOT the Mayor of La Grange.
The Mayor should also take steps to replace the La Grange Police Chief for not being able to corral his charges. Even this morning a COP was seen out to the old Moorman property running radar out side the City limits. The voters of La Grange need to contact each candidate for Mayor and Council and only vote for those who are intelligent enough to knock down the La Grange Police Department who have change themselves from servants and protectors of the people of La Grange to harassers, abusers and now wanting to control the Mayor and City Council as was demonstrated at the last police committee meeting.
IMPEACH THE MAYOR? Council person Rita-Farr Cox needs to be impeached.
January 22, 2005
By my emails this morning, the rumors are that since the lapd won the battle Tuesday night, they went on a stopping spree. The patrons of the casino paid the price with two cars stopping them right and left. Maybe the new owners of the casino will demand the city council to put a stop to this insane department.
January 21, 2005
Above are two pictures of the new $19,000.00 150 foot sewer line proposed by KLINGNER'S and the City Administrator. A click on either picture will bring up a larger one. Notice in picture two of the 4 inch residential plastic sewer line.

Hail to the Chief President Bush
Rumor has it that the COPS of La Grange showed their ass yesterday at the City Court. Then proceeded to show Marion County how stupid they are. Mark My Word, the time is coming when these COPS will end up getting the City in a lawsuit that will make the City Attorney want to quit. The City Council needs to take a hard look at the out of control police department and look into why the police chief should not be replaced. It seems by the rumors around town that he cannot or will not reign in the rogue ones and people are getting testy. Once any police force gets it in their heads that they are cops, judge, and jury and no one can tell them what they can and can't do, it is time to start the process of elimination. An election is coming up and two out of three candidates for mayor and two of the candidates for council are agreeing that the police department needs to be overhauled. At least one agrees that the dispatchers and having chiefs and Indians needs to be done away with and one working chief and four Indians is all that is needed.
And since when it is illegal for someone to park in a street to go fishing in the river? Here again, sooner or later one of the rouge cops is going to falsely arrest someone for being on the beach area, pretending the forged agreement with triangle is a valid contract. Sooner or later, one of them is going to cost the city a lot of money.
Yesterday into last night and into this morning, the City of Canton is saddened by the great fire. It is rumored to have started in an apartment and spread through 3 buildings. These were good solid buildings with places for two families to live and businesses to house. They will not ever be rebuilt and are gone forever.
We have to say here and now that the La Grange fire department has to be proud to be the FIRST fire department to the fire. Yes, the rumor around Canton is the La Grange fire department going into Canton passed the Canton fire department leaving town on old 61.
There is/was a major fire in Canton Mo tonight. It started before 5pm and the rumor so far is that there was a big gas explosion around Primo's restaurant in the middle of 4th street and I hear that the whole block from Primos North is burning at 8pm. More accurate info will be posted later.

Jerry,
Is LaGrange literally falling down? Twenty four buildings that the City Admin.wants to trash in a town of 1,000 souls?? That is one building for every 41.7 people. Is Council going set up a displaced persons tent camp? I live in a city of nearly 700,000 and I've never heard of demolition at that rate. The tidal waves very sadly hit Asia not up the Mississipi to Missouri/Illinois, so why the need for all the destruction, demolition and grief for hardworking, deserving citizens in America's heartland. Your civic officials should be given mandatory MRI bran scans to determine if they actually have any brains left and if the remnants are indeed functional!
Rumor has it that a cop flatten someone's tire. But, I guess that he will not be caught as there were more than one around when it happened and we all know about the blue shield.
But, it is also rumored that the police officers are dictating to the council what they will do and not do and how much the city will pay them, even for not working. Folks, this is not even one tenth of the problems with a police force.
January 18, 2004
The Quincy rag did an article for the City of La Grange about derelict buildings. Not too long ago the City Administrator said the he and Ed Ensor found 24 buildings in La Grange that need to be demolished. Drive around town and see if you see the 24 buildings that do not meet the City Administrators building excellence. In the paper Monday evening they discussed the grant program where the people who "volunteer" to have their building demolished, they will only be charged $500.00.
What about the several people the City put in a financial bind by demolishing their buildings and charging them thousands of dollars? What about the grandmother that was put in jail by Judge Westhoff for not demolishing a building she didn't own? Are they going to be reimbursed for their costs?
January 17, 2004
Now that the new Republican Governor, Matt Blunt, has reigned in the Department of Natural Resources and their gestapo tactics on cities like La Grange, There should be no reason for Klingner's Engineering to pressure the City Council to replace a sewer plant that is in good shape and not needed. Hopefully the Mayor will be able to see that some maintenance will be all that is needed for many years to come. It is time to put a stop to these increasing engineering fees and studies.
January 15, 2005
Last week, there was an article in the Quincy Rag about the Gossip Page. In taking a look at the stats for the past week, readers of the Gossip Page have increase two fold. It seems everyone in the tri-state area are reading all about the police antics in La Grange and how the Mayor and La Grange City Council is spending the casino money.
A couple of weeks ago in the Press News Journal, the Mayor of La Grange posted what I think was supposed to be a financial statement for the City of La Grange. It looked like a bad photocopy of some words and numbers that made no sense what so ever. This has been done for several years now. It was started by Mayor Harold Ludwig in what I believe was a way to cover up the bookkeeping of the City finances. Ever City, County, Road District, and other political enterprise posted as required by law a complete financial statement showing "exactly" what monies was taken in and "exactly" where it was spent. Most even print their check registers for the year.
BUT, THE CITY OF LA GRANGE, has decided to circumvent the law by posting a bogus financial statement. The present Mayor wants everyone to believe him in how good he has handled the finances of the peoples money but, makes every attempt for the past two years to hide what he has done. If he wants to get elected again, the Mayor must post in the paper a true and correct financial statement for everyone to see. If Harold Ludwig wants to be Mayor, he should assure the people of La Grange that the hiding of the finances of the City will cease immediately.
In regards to the article regarding B. Lynn Pascoe being a United States Ambassador. In reading the articles, watching him on TV, and his web site, I found no reference that Lynn ever visited La Grange, Mo., much less went to school here and his family was from here for several generations. It looked to me like he never was here.
Election time will be here soon. The time to sign up for Mayor or Councilman will end this next week and no one has come forward to sign up up for South Ward.
I don't know but, it seems that every time that Ken Schuetz gets voted president of some organization here in La Grange, first there isn't any activity, then the organization seems to disappear. The Chamber now is down to nothing and now the La Grange Betterment Committee hasn't done ANYTHING for months with the $50,000.00 granted to it "to do something for the community". When will the people of La Grange learn that an outsider doesn't have interest in seeing something happen in La Grange. Just remember the secret meeting to sell out the ball park.
Klingner Engineering is keeping the money coming to them from the City. A person has wonder what in the world the Mayor and Council were thinking about to allow Klingner Engineering to talk them into surveying for a new sewer line on the South end of town that no one will hook up to. This is bordering being a nut case.
The City buys property out Route C. Plans to annex out Ruote C. Has an employer out Route C wanting city sewer and Klinger's survey the South end of town that will benefit no one. Who is the crazy one?
January 12, 2005
The La Grange city council had a meeting Monday evening. The first thing on the agenda is the City buying batteries from everywhere except from a business in town. The Mayor wanted to know. I guess the City Administrator wanted to be able to screw over all the businesses in town equally. The city could save 70% on ink cartridges for their printers buying in town but, that would mean they would support a local business. Staples needs the City business. But, again as every year, the City Council voted to (try) to buy locally. A lot of good that does.
Ed Ensor has decided that paying $10,000 to repair a backhoe would be throwing away money and that the city needs to BUY A NEW BACKHOE. Elaine White called for a committee meeting to see about BUYING A NEW BACKHOE. Buying a new backhoe has to be cheaper than repairing the old one. Makes one wonder why Ed Ensor didn't just go out and buy a new skidsteer when his broke last fall. Certainly, according to Ed, it would have been cheaper. Right? At least the Mayor couldn't see how it would be cheaper to spend the money for a new backhoe. But, what the heck, it isn't Ed's money.
The first problem regarding the OFFICERS of the Chamber of Commerce selling out the members regarding the ball park came up at the council meeting. The problem of the City having NO ALCOHOL on City property. There goes beer at the ball games and family reunions etc. The City Council hedged a little by stating to look at it on a case by case basis, which means if they don't like you, you can't drink there, but if they like you, you can drink there.
One thing of notice is that the City Administrator stated the "City did NOT have enough money to pay Bleigh Construction". A million plus a year and the City is going broke. Only in La Grange. Then Ed Ensor thought that going into debt for 7 years was a good way to SPEND THE MONEY.
The City Attorney talked about the annexation, you know the property where Klingner's is NOT surveying for a new sewer line. SPEND THE MONEY.
Who are you going to vote for? Hopefully someone who will put a stop to this insane spending the money.

Say a prayer for the Sons and Daughters of Thelma Lewis
Her services will be at the Green Chapel Church in La Grange Tuesday 2pm
Visitation from 4-6pm at the Davis Funeral Home.
January 7, 2005
It was a pleasant refreshing ride around town today. The City crew was out plowing the slushy dirty snow off the streets and cleaning it back to make room for more.
On a darker note. James Cunningham, father of Gary, Kent and Chuck, passed away. Also, it is very disturbing to hear about all the cancer cases here in La Grange. Jim was known as J.B. and was born Dec 12, 1919. His funeral will be at 10am at the La Grange Baptist church. Visitation 4-8pm Sunday at the Davis funeral home.
The new owners of the Casino are said to take over The first of February. I wonder if the Chamber (chuckle) will do something? Or the City (hehe) maybe?
How much longer till the Lions Pancake and Sausage? What day this year?
January 6, 2005
TODAY, Oh, what a difference a day makes. This morning in a drive around town at 6am, it was found that 90% of all streets were cleaned to the ditches. Only a rare few side streets were left to clean. NOW, if we can just get the City Council to figure out a way to clean the downtown sidewalks. All in all, the people at the coffee shops were pleased today. Then the City came by all the streets and put down sand too. We got a twofer today.
YESTERDAY. If you left for work this morning before 7:30am you had to drive on ice packed streets. For some reason the great Public Works Foreman and the City Administrator thought that a little sand on the streets yesterday was a good enough job. Even this evening, the streets of La Grange were still a mess. I guess Sam Henderson spending almost a $100,000.00 for new diesel trucks with snow plows wasn't enough. It is too bad that there isn't a Mayor or Councilman that cares about the people of the town. You would think the councilwoman that talks, visits, goes to all the city crew every day would see that the half way cleaning of the streets sucks. A Mayor could fire them all the streets would be the same.

I have been getting a lot of questions regarding the foundry. So here is the story to date. As everyone knows the foundry closed and had an auction to sell off the equipment a couple years ago. The Bankruptcy Court then auctioned the property and buildings off. J Duane Frieden bought the building and property on top of the hill. A guy in Pennsylvania who I will call buyer number 1, bought the whole place for $5,000.00 in March of last year. Original plans were to fix it up, clean it up and rent out space for businesses to rent at a low cost.
The Lewis County Commissioners refused to lower the $100,000.00 a year taxes so the owner could have some leeway in doing something for the town and community. Owner #1 then put the property for sale on EBAY and it sold to a man in California for $577,000.00. Buyer #1 didn't like what he saw and bailed out. Owner #1 then decided to scrap the whole plant because of the taxes. A Buyer #2 came along and Owner #1 and he couldn't come to terms and buyer #2 bailed out. In the mean time, owner #1 started back up scrapping the place. Now, a couple of weeks ago a Buyer #3 came and bought the place. This time I think the sale has gone through. It seems that the fate of the foundry rests in the taxes. But, as it stands today, it looks like the old part of the foundry, cupola, and sand plant will probably be scrapped. The new buildings on each end looks like they will be used for rental income.
Owner #1 has put the parking lots across the street and the vacant lot South of the foundry hill back on EBAY. So far he has a $30,000 bid on the South lot and a $20,000.00 bid on each of the parking lots. You can go to EBAY and see them for sale by searching for "La Grange Missouri" and then checking the "descriptions box."
Owner #2 is coming in sometime to reevaluate the situation. But, it doesn't look good for the present scrappers as they have been locked out for over a week.

Also Linda K. Richardson-Job died at 11am Saturday. She was the wife of Ray Job.
The weather in La Grange turned from very good to bad beginning Sunday and has been getting steadily worse. This evening looks pretty bad. Just a good time to stay indoors and work picture puzzles.
The Next big thing coming up. The La Grange Lions Club Pancake and Sausage Day. Will it be on the 4th or the 11th this year?
JANUARY 1, 2005
The first day of the New Year. There were over 500 people who celebrated the New Year at the Casino New year Party. Cars were parked almost the whole parking by 6 pm. Miraculously, everyone who came in from the South end of town and went out the South end were not stopped by the LAPD. Some of those that took the chance to drive through town werem't so lucky.
At midnight, a couple of brave souls dared to go outside and celebrate the New Year by shooting off fireworks and other ways were the cause of a massive police hunt all over the South end of town by the LAPD. There will NOT be any show of celebrating the New Year in La Grange.
