JUNE GOSSIP PAGES

Since the City fathers failed to see that the property they bought did not have enough room to do road mix the cheap way, the City is now buying road mix already made up from Quincy. Plus, since the City fathers could not see that the property they bought was too small, they have to store even the premix at the old La Grange School parking lot where they are storing the winter salt mix. Plus they even put the City shed so the doors face the road so everyone coming to the gambling boat will see the dirty side of everything. It should have been turned around so the back side could at least been landscaped. So dumb, but 187 people wanted him for Mayor and think Ralph (pave my drive free) Martin and Fred (no prayer here) Wiewel knew it all. Big joke.
There is a person in Canton that keeps saying this saying over and over again to me.
Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.
It seems that with this City Council and Mayor the above saying is so true. There is not and never has been any prior planning. Two Councilmen have done everything they can possibly do to get that gambling boat here, most to the detriment of getting the gambling boat here, and yet no Councilman or the Mayor has done anything in regards to the four lane highway to get the customers to the gambling boat, (if it even gets here). They refuse to advertise for a COMPETENT city manager that has degrees in city management and municipal planning. They seemed also determined to piss away this gambling boat like they did Catfish Bend. Let's see, based on Jenny's figures, YOU the people of La Grange are out $7.5 Million dollars, PLUS. Had Ralph (pave my drive free) Martin and Fred (no prayer here) Wiewel, picked Catfish Bend Casinos in 1995, the City would have had a boat that year. Jenny's $1.5 mil each year, plus Catfish Bends offer of $100,000 per year bonus. That comes to what? People of La Grange?
What kind of Mayor would allow a City Super to screw up putting high cost premix asphalt on the roads like was done on North 3rd Street between Gilespies and Bronsteins. Drive by and take a look. Might as well hire a teenager.
The six P's above came into play again. Well done Mayor and Council, so far all you have done so far is make more work and cost for the next Mayor and Council to do it over again.

Well Henry Henry and pals Ralphie and Freddie thought they were going to cause me big problems, but all they have done is cause problems for a lot of other people in town and the surrounding area. Good show boys. No problem came to me, in fact it helped me out of it, but some of their friends and a relative of a coworker are pissed.
Which brings another item which was broadcast on Dateline NBC. The show was about a nurse who was reprimanded because of being a trouble maker who wanted to cause trouble for her boss. She got some of the people she was caring for to file complaints of sexual abuse against the boss. AND, being a nurse, she was MANDATED by law to report the abuse. It was so close to being parallel of two people in La Grange, Wilma Garr and Kathy Combs who did almost the same thing against a little 10 year old girl in La Grange. The had to do it as they were MANDATED by law to report their suspicions.
SO, has anyone, I mean ANYONE, heard what happened to the boat? It has been weeks since the last blurb, problem. What now? WELL, Mayor, July 1, is just a couple of days away and no one is setting up tents for the big ground breaking.
A couple of weeks ago I saw something that almost assured me that the boat was coming. A real close person of the LRO and the boat people bought a big dump truck. I knew then that he bought the truck to haul dirt for the gambling boat. BUT, last Tuesday, the bubble was burst. I drove by and saw a for sale sign in the window. Darn the luck.
I saw a couple of tuck loads of asphalt come into town today. That pissed off the street super, he thought he was going to get a whole summer of paid vacation. Now he has to ride on the paver instead of his truck.

Been a dry spell for news lately. There has been a lot of gossip about the fire chief, but nothing concrete on the stories. Something about traffic problems on the new highway at an accident and something about the fire chief in Canton. Looks like maybe La Grange may be getting a new fire chief.
Received an email from an out-of-towner wanting to know more about what is going on around town. Mostly about the gambling boat. So on that one, I was very assured the other day that the boat was going to be real. A gambling boat STRONG supported bought a big dump truck to haul dirt. Maybe you saw it down by the State Park?
Well, when I saw that the supported bought this big dump truck, I figured he was in on the talk and was getting ready to get his share. But, my dream of the gambling boat coming to La Grange was shattered when I went past the place last Tuesday evening and saw a "FOR SALE" sign in the windshield. Now what?
Boy, it sure is taking them an awful long time to finish the "Memorial to Main Street" building. Two days to put up three boards on the front.
What happened to the new fire station? Why haven't all the fire trucks been moved out there yet? Oh, I forgot, we haven't had our dedication yet?
Again, everyone is asking, where is the street super and the oil on the streets this year?
June 20, 2000
Yes, I am sorry I haven't been keeping this up like I should. Business has been hectic to say the least. Anyhow, there is a new ad page to look at CLICK HERE
Have driven by the mineral well lately? Some nice young ladies have spruced it up quite a bit. Which brings me to another nice thing done. A few weeks ago I saw quite a few people picking up trash down around the riverfront. I stopped and asked who was doing this. It was the Lutheran Church.
I received a couple of emails regarding the City Council meeting. Questions were asked as to how the black stuff got in the pipes. It has been there for years because of the minerals in the water.
THAT ISN'T THE PROBLEM. The problem keeps popping up because of the fire hydrants being tested all the time. When the water department flushes the lines every so often, the Water department posts notices all over town and in the paper. Most people in town know then when not to wash clothes. BUT, when others test the hydrants all the time, they don't warn the people and that causes bad wash loads.
Me, I have a main line filter, and I also use a high test water filter on my drinking water. I do not like the scum on my coffee after it has set for an hour, so I use the best water filters I can get to get rid of the scum.
NOW, whereas the street super is on street resurfacing vacation, you would
think he would care about his ol working buddy and grade his road for him. Or at
least send Sam to do it.

Boy has the place been hot about the fire department. Rumor has it that a neighboring fire chief has told the La Grange Fire Chief, Don't call us, we'll call you. WOW. Say, does anyone know how the paramedic is that got hurt in the fire chiefs truck?? Who paid for that one? With all the activity at the fire station this wekend, you would have thought a fire convention was going on. Trucks running around everywhere. Comments were made that the trucks have had more miles in the last six months put on them than in the last six years of the old fire chief. But, what the heck. Money is no object, you can afford to pay for all this service.
The City Council meeting discussed again about sending Northrup a bill. A few months later they will discuss it again. Kind of like the boat, every two or three months we blurb it. The water deal is another same o, same o. Ed Ensor came back to the City again for more money on the fire and city shed buildings. And guess what you rural fire people, a meeting on the 19th will be to discuss MORE MONEY from you. I guess some councilmen don't like this web site. They thought a web site was cheap to put up and maintain. They want a website of their own. You can guess what they want to put up. Next the City Council decided to put the street and water back on the 8am to 5pm hours. So what, they will still quit at 4 or earlier. Will they ever put any oil on any streets this year?
Sure wish they would do something about the road to Bob and me. The garbage truck still won't come up our road as they say it isn't safe to drive on. The ruts are getting bad though.

OK, I am back now. I have had everyone wondering what happened and why I haven't been posting for over a week now. Well, folks, even computer dealers computers crash. And, boy did it ever. Trying to salvage all the things you thought were safe on a tape backup and on other drives is a real challenge. But, to try to rebuild your own data while everyone else wants their computer either built today or fixed today is even more fun. Formatting hard drives at 4 in the morning is no fun.
Over the weekend we will put up the City Council Meeting and I will also put
up about City Court. Now, that is a trip that everyone should take at least
once. I have a back up of emails with questions and notes that I will get to
over the weekend.
We are now 7 days past the day set by the gambling boat people to start building the boat.
I hate to say this, but, one town watcher has noticed the number of police at a trailer that are there for extended periods of night.
Well folks, we only have three Articles of the Charters and two Ordinances left that have not been violated or waived by this City Council and Mayor before we can throw the book away. Take for instance Ordinance #24 Section 2. No person shall construct or erect any building or part of a building of which the outer walls of which in part or whole be constructed of wood. Section #3, states all buildings in the fire limits shall be constructed of FIRE PROOF material. And here the La Grange Revitalization Organization of which a FIREMAN is on the board is building a building with wood siding in violation of this Ordinance that has been in force since 1938. Now, why would anyone is such a position do such a thing? It is because a corrupt Mayor and Council will not do anything about it. Which makes them subject to malfeasance of office, doesn't it? And they think that the Gaming Commission will allow a gambling license for such corruption.
If any of you people or I, in La Grange would start building such a building, the City Council would have had us ARRESTED, and fined $100.00 a day for each day that siding was on that building.
Now, on a good note, the Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual 4th of July Celebration. Please note that this is the ONLY fund raising evurniture somewhere and it will be raffled off on the 4th of July. All Chamber members will have tickets to sell. 1 ticket for a dollar and 6 for $5.00
THE CITY NEEDS A CITY MANAGER NOW!. Just take a look downtown today. The City is hooking up the water to the new building and digging up a PATCHED hole from before.
June 5, 2000
Rumor has it that a couple of Councilmen and the fire chief are planning some surprises on the public. One of the rumors is that they are trying to figure out a way to stop people from celebrating the 4th of July by not allowing any fireworks to be shot off except by the firemen.
These same Councilmen are also planning to put in place zoning laws and building codes for you.
If you go back to the main page you will be able to find new information posted. Fire Association meetings. (See what Andy Ayers had to say). Several Special Council meetings. No one is allowed to see the minutes of the "executive session" meetings, but most of them were how to skinny the boat people out of more money, so who cares?
June 2, 2000
Meeting after meeting after meeting. The City Council is having meetings trying to figure out how to get MORE MONEY out of the gambling boat owners. Many are secret meetings in executive session. Now the Council has opened a new secret bank account to pay out money for the building of the new fire station and City shed. All this to keep you, the public from seeing how much MORE MONEY they are spending. So far this year the police department has come up thousands of dollars short of enough money to pay expenses. Too many people are watching their speed and a close eye on driving after a drink or two is being the cause.
YET, the City Street Commissioner has not put one drop of oil on any street. All he has been able to do is burn up high priced gas riding around. When are we going to get a Mayor to take charge and get things done that Ralph and Fred won't run out of town? When will the Council start advertising for a City manager? When will the boat people start building the boat?
June 1, 2000
Well, as usual another problem came up with the gambling boat. Now, if I was still Mayor, all these problems would have been my fault. Can't you just see the newspaper and tv people all over here wanting to know what I did to stop the boat this time. But, no one can blame a Mayor who knows nothing, can they (pave my drive free) and (no prayer here)?
The La Grange High School class of 1965 held their what 45th class reunion last Saturday. My how time flies. After reading the first page, these people were born before time began. Sherrie, with that new computer you have, you could have printed up a much nicer booklet. Or did miss Klauser do it.
At the bottom of this page is a hit counter. The counter lists all the times someone visits this page. It is listed by Country and number of hits from that country. Network/ISP which shows 17840 is from people who log on around the country like we do here. USA Commercial is from people who are at work someplace. Educational is from schools or colleges. The interesting ones are from GOVERNMENT. Those could be from the Gaming Commission as they have been notified of the site. Or, some could be from the FBI as someone from City Government did file a complaint against me. I do have a copy of it sent to me by the Government. But, look at all the different Countries who have found the site.
