Mr. and Mrs Bob Weinbauer went to Colorado Springs, Colo., to await the
birth of their first grandbaby, Garrett
Daniel Whitaker, who was born June 14. Bob Weinbauer returned home on
Saturday, and Afton stayed for a few more
days.
Aaron Merrell, Las Vegas, Nov.; Marty, Kerry, Megan and Garrett Brown,
Olathe, Kan.; and Zachary and Kayla Merrell,
Canton, visited from Friday through Sunday with Duane, Phyllis and Roderick
Merrell. On Sunday, Lauren Danielle Merrell was Baptized followed by an
outdoor barbecue at the home of her parents, Ryan and Stephanie Merrell.
Additional guests, besides the above mentioned were: Eric and Elizabeth
Baker, Palmyra; Theresa Hays, Hannibal; Daniel Harsell, Columbia; Michael
and Jeffrey Harsell; and Brent Merrell.

A surprise 60th birthday and family gathering, honored Bob Swearingen,
June 11, at his home, with a barbecue. Present, besides his wife, Loma
Swearingen, were: Pam Swearingen and Nikki, Oiney, 111.; Emma Lee Davis,
Hamilton; Glen and
Martha Laymon, Mendon. Dick and Sue Robertson; and Ricky and Angie
Robertson, Dessa and Shelby.. Cake and ice
cream were served later.
Arnold and Nancy Tiemann spent the weekend in the home of Doug and Connie Tiemann, in Lake St. Louis while Doug and Connie stayed in the Tiemann home to attend a wedding of a relative. Arnold and Nancy attended a surprise birthday party for a niece, in St. Louis.
Mrs. Ruth Miner has a cousin, Fred and Nancy Tarpein, Denver, visiting her for a few days.
Kaitlyn Vandermaiden, of Quincy, observed her 9th birthday, on Saturday evening, at her -home. Family members present were her mother, Leanne Vandermaiden and brother Gabe; great grandfather, Cecil Garkie; Phil and Judy Garkie; and Phil E. Garkie and Taylor.
Mr. and Mrs. Gregg Roghan, of Texas, were Sunday afternoon visitors and luncheon guests of Howard and Esther Begemann.

Pat Garrett spent a long weekend with her parents, Jim and Betty Leeser.
On Sunday, they all met Ron and Bev Platt
and Lacey, at Mt. Pleasant, for lunch. Following lunch they all went to the
Platt home to visit. Later, they enjoyed a Father's Day cake.
Frances and Nancy Ellison hosted a Father's Day evening dinner for family: Jim and Betty Leeser; Pat Garrett, Montgomery City; Jim and Tammy Ellison and Patrick; John and Jerilyn Ellison, D. J , Diane, and Aaron, Canton; and Mike and Mary Lair.
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Begemann were Sunday evening visitors of Dennis and Paula hedges.
Les and Elaine Jamison attended a picnic in Fort Madison, on Sunday.
Ed Wolfmeyer enjoyed Father's Day calls from his daughters, Linda and Edda Linn. He also received cards and letters.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Sturhaun were in St. Louis with Gregg and Kathy Childers from Saturday to Monday for Father's Day.
Jim Moon has been spending a large amount of time tending sheep in Illinois. He has been seen hauling sheep manure home to the apartment at senior housing. Wane Maples is starting to get concerned by Jim's weired behavior.
Some of the waitresses and hostesses at the Casino are also concerned.
Ed Dickerson and his working wife Virgina will be visiting La Grange over the 4th of July.
