Good Morning Jerry,
I finally took the time to read some of you extra links that you have posted. They are very good, but how many people do you think has taken the time to read them and understand what it means?  They only see and understand what has affect their lives in the past 4 years.  The Lewis County area is not good.  There may be jobs for some of them, but lot less money than what they were used to taking home. Yet medical bills have gone up as well as electric, gas and yes even the La Grange water bills. Many of the kids went into the military after high school, and have fought for our country.
The Lewis County area hasn't seen the other side of the coin.  What happened there has nothing to do with President Bush.  It was the opposite.  Many lost jobs in the area when the La Grange Foundry closed, not because of the economy, because of very poor management.  Why has the water bills gone up in La Grange?  My goodness, the City of La Grange is taking in more money now than ever from the Casino.  Again, poor management.  There is no doubt what will happen in the future if this continues.  Some of our area young adults have received a great education in the military.  A chance that many wouldn't have had in civilian life.  Some even had their college paid for.  Besides, we all know that Freedom is not FREE.  It is earned.
My point is that even locally, no one can say anything against President Bush.  That Kerry and Edwards scare me to death.  I understand that Kerry already has 150,000 lawyers standing by for the day after the election.  If he loses then trouble will begin.  I hope and pray that the Lord will guild his people in the right direction. I know that Lewis County is a Democrat area, but I can't imagine many of those people voting for this person.  Can you imagine Mrs. Kerry as the First Lady?  No way. I couldn't believe that there were people in Lewis County that served in the military with Kerry. Whenever I see a purple heart on the license plates of some vehicles, I have to stop and think, was he really wounded or just required a band-aid? He ruined that for everyone. They knew the truth didn't they?  He just lies.  Sneaky!  Then when you know about Edwards. My gosh.
Well, it won't be long now.

COP comes on duty at 10pm and at 10:03 pm the cop makes his first stop and it goes on and on and Councilman Lannie Heintz doesn't have the BALLS to put a stop to this insane harassment. Councilman Lannie Heintz, the Police committee chairman doesn't even know to put a stop to two cops running two cars for hours burning $2.00 gas by the hundreds of gallons. Who cares? It's not his money that is being burned up every day.

The City Council met Monday night and it only lasted 1 hour. The only things the council talked about was that the IRS sent a letter of about $7,000 under payment in 2002. Then they discussed the fact that they voted to spend 20 some thousand dollars for the new antique lights for around town and did not appropriate the money for the conduit and wiring or provide for the conduit in any of the new sidewalks they installed. Now, the need to find a company that can burrow under the concrete. And then the subject of sidewalks for residents came up. The Public Works Foreman was confused as to whose sidewalk to do first on his list and whether someone with a decent sidewalk actually needs a new one only so he can grade his yard to have an easier mowing.

A concerned citizen contacted me about the parking at the city park. The question the citizen had was, what happens when a car larger than a Volkswagen parks in anyone of the dinky parking places. The citizen said that they thought the parking was going to be angle parking and worried that coming from the North they would have to swing into the other lane to get into a parking spot and get a ticket from a cop for crossing into the other lane.

October 24, 2004

If you drive around town you will see that the City finally went ahead and screwed over Mary Jane and had a company come in and clean up the lot for her. You are next on the list. But, you can also see a bull dozer buried in the mud down by Finley Lewis's house.

Sunday at 2am, the local cop finally spotted the beach fire that has been there all night. Later Sunday morning with two cops following each other in two cars burning up the $2.00 per gallon gas, they found that some one left their car on the casino parking lot. The public should know better than that. The nerve of some people actually leaving their car on "private" property and go off and leave it.

Rumor has it that one cop likes to have young girls ride in the police car with him on Saturday afternoons.

As you can now see that Tony Cottrell's phone number and address is now available. I received more than 13 emails, some with the wrong address and phone wanting his phone number posted. Now if someone can find his backers who are hiding in the bushes and expose them, we will post them too. One email suggested a name of Arnold and another suggested a name of Veatch. But, we will find out who they all are.

One emailer made this very accurate observation. Tony Cottrell ha placed many political ads in the Canton paper and not one ad that he placed provided any positive information on what his hero John Kerry and Michael Moore are going to do (IF) he can steal the election with all the lawyers already suing to change the votes.

On the City side of the emails. One emailer is still pissed that Sam Henderson would not take the petition to leave the alley alone. There are five families and one previous homeowner that wanted the alley to stay closed. Then one screwball moves in and the rest of the property owners have to suffer because of one person. Take a look at what SAM HENDERSON had the City do to these peoples alley.

Everyone should thank there Blessings for Sam Henderson.

The Lions Club hosted a Fish Fry for the child of the Jim Reynolds family for medical expenses. We didn't get there until after 6pm and still had to wait in line to get served. I am not complaining, I just want you to know that there were that many people willing to step up to the plate when needed.

October 22, 2004

The visitation for Jack Farr was tremendous with a lot of people from all over. Jack made a lot of friends over the years.

The Lions Club is having a benefit fish fry this evening for the Jim Reynolds baby. Every one should go and leave a little more to help out.

The City has the new Antique Lights and are starting to put them up near the mineral well.

Take a look at the memorial blocks that people paid Susan Dean of the LRO for and see if yours is there. It is rumored that a couple of organizations paid for a memorial block and they didn't get one.

There is still a lot of dissention in regards to the stupid idea of opening the alley between sixth and seventh and Route C and Jefferson street, more commonly known as the alley to Mrs. Heather. The majority of the people still say that the city did not notify them of any actions and opened the alley against their objections for spite and because of only one person. I am told that this WILL BE REMEMBERED come election day.

Say a Prayer for the Jack Farr Family

October 18, 2004

The people in Florida started voting today. They already found over 20,000 unregistered voters who aren't even American Citizens voting DEMOCRATIC. How do they know, exit poling. They just asked them and the freely stated they were not citizens and the voted democratic. So far no one was arrested or deported.

October 17, 2004

Even though there hasn't been any advertisement other than the sign in front of the Lion's Club, there seems to be a Fish Fry benefit next Friday Evening.

Jerry

I just want to know if the Mayor and the La Grange Police Chief own scanners? If they do, what do they do when the weekend comes, turn them off. Can't either one see that their COPS go hog wild stopping everyone in sight on the weekends? It also seems that whenever the Chief is gone and the Mayor is out of town during the week nights, they go crazy like they are on meth. Hope you print this so they can see they need a leash on their dogs.

Jerry
The fleecing of the people of La Grange new 2 block boulevard looks like it is done but, the barricades are still up. What are they waiting for? I noticed that the city crew is now paving streets now that it is cold. Why did they wait all summer to pave streets? Why is the police department running radar on Sunday morning? Just simple honest questions..

The Council was talking about annexation again. They do this once in awhile, but then when asked why they don't run sewer out Route C for the ONLY manufacturing company that is hiring people and creating jobs. Why, they are waiting for the illustrious City Administrator to get a GRANT. Why hasn't he secured one small grant yet? Rumor has it that he has been too busy trying to set himself up as a shadow Mayor. A behind the back Mayor. But, this is just a rumor.

How about another rumor. So far, I have heard that no less than five people are going to sign up for Mayor this time. Two seem to favor the removal of the City Administrator. Two seem to be in favor of reducing the police department to five and make the Chief be a worker as he titles will be removed.

Who are they? Well , the present Mayor for one. Steve Griesbaum for two. Lannie Heintz for three. Theresa Gunsals for Four. Harold Ludwig for five.

Which one will be "FOR THE PEOPLE OF LAGRANGE"??

Which one will reduce the budget to a balanced budget? Which one will reduce the police department? Which one will reduce the real and personal taxes? Which one will do away with the utility taxes? Which one will reduce the engineering costs? Which one will cut the never ending spending by the fire department? Which one will say that paying $100,000.00 to redo one city block is insane? When they ask for your vote, get it in writing.

The Officers of the La Grange Area Chamber of Commerce didn't produce a contract to sell the La Grange Ball Park to the City. This is one more time the City has changed the language of the contract that wasn't agreed to previously. The City has already refused to say they will spend a dime on the park, All they say is "Trust me". We will spend money on the park.

At the meeting Saturday evening, Ken Scheutz tried his best to puff up the City administrator. He kept talking about the City Administrator was going to get this grant and get that grant and some other grant. When Ken was asked about the water and sewer grant, he reluctantly agreed that the people of La Grange will have to double their water and sewer rates to get this free grant.

Ken was talking about how the city would put a soccer field at the ball park, but didn't know the new owners of the casino offered to turn the old Oyster Park into a soccer field. Almost everyone who attended the so called "dinner" meeting was mot in favor in selling the ball park to the city. Only PAM NOVINGER - CHERYL LOWE + Ken SHEUTZ want to sell the ball park whether the members or the people want to sell it or not. These three people are going to do it no matter what.

As the meeting was ending and people were leaving, outside several members agreed that if these three people don't like it, maybe they should resign and let some one else take over that will "SAVE" the ball park.

CHAMBER MEETING AND "supper" TONITE AT 6:30pm

THE OFFICERS ARE GOING TO SELL THE BALL PARK TO THE CITY TONITE.

Ken Scheutz - Pam Novinger - Cheryl Lowe - Mike Lowe - Don Sherwood

What happened to the water last evening? Several people all the way from the Senior Housing to my house are wondering why the water tasted like mud. Even the dog wouldn't drink it.

I went down to check on the foundry property and a LAPD had another dumb driver who took a chance to drive through La Grange. When I left to go back home the cop turned around and started following me, so I pulled over in front of the foundry and stopped. He pulled up beside my truck and rolled down the window and told me it was against the law to park there. There was a no parking sign right in front of me. So now the question is, do you stop or don't stop.

The fifth street paving has been done but there are still barricades to stop anyone from using the street.

You can always tell when the City hires a new young and dumb cop. The scanner is flooded with calls to run licenses of everyone in town again. Saturday and Sunday mornings are good times to get stopped coming or going in La Grange by the new young and dumb trying make a name for himself. The people of La Grange get screwed again.

October 8, 2004

The La Grange Community Youth Center now has another Church in La Grange as a supporter. The La Grange First Baptist Church has joined the La Grange Methodist Church in donating to the youth center. A place where people care about the kids.

The La Grange "AREA" Chamber of Commerce is having a "dinner meeting" at the Lion's Club to "allow" members to see the new contract to sell the La Grange Ball Park to the City for $1,000.00. Of all the members I talked to, it seems only the officers of the La Grange "AREA" Chamber of Commerce want to sell the ball park. Mike Lowe, Cheryl Lowe, Ken Sheutz, Pam Novinger and Don Sherwood are the officers who are selling out the Chamber. Cheryl and Ken and Pam cited the reason for selling the ball park as the Chamber doesn't have the funds to keep it up. They refused to acknowledge that the City takes care of the mowing and the Ball Park Association takes care of the ball diamond. I looked at the treasurers report and did not see any money expended for the ball park and believe that there is another reason for the selling out the people.

Ken Scheutz is representing the Chamber on the Betterment Committee that now has $50,000.00 to use for "BETTERMENT" of the community and there is no reason that if some funds are needed for improvements that the Betterment Committee can't use some of the $50,000.00.

So, where is the Betterment Committee? When do they meet? what are their plans? $50,000.00? Is this just another secret Organization like the old La Grange Revitalization Organization that the officers make out? Or like the "Project Brighter Future" where the officers took a two week vacation in January in JAMACA??

Maybe the Betterment Committee would like to publicize their meetings and actions.

October 4, 2004

Sunday morning was a good time for the LAPD. Starting at 5:30am they continued all day long. There was Culver Stockton home coming visitors still trying to get from Canton to Quincy. Since there is no one to head the police force, they will continue their harassment of the public. Maybe someday, their will be a Mayor that will be a Mayor and do his job. Maybe there can be new councilmen that will do their job.

October 1, 2004

Jerry; Hello, I know about feelings about our respective towns and they many times run hard. However here's one that I find both amusing and very gratifying. Today I lost a very fine friend Mr. Donald Hemphill. Donald lived in the La Grange Senior Citizens Complex. His son Sam found him this morning. Donald was a Fine Christian Gentleman! Now that's OK, but lets go back about a week.  Donald had not been feeling very well and had been in and out of the hospital for the last several months. Now here is Donald at home and the time is about midnight- one o'clock in the morning and Donald wants a cup of coffee. His legs just not working and no assistance available at that time what does he do? Calls 911 and explains his plight and wishes. A La Grange Police Officer responded to Donald's Apartment and guess what, he fixed Donald a cup.......... Some people might take great offense at knowing that a police officer went to the aid of an old man by fixing him a cup of coffee. BUT I THINK IT WAS GREAT.. My Sincere Compliments to that officer and the 911 operator that received the call. Every once and awhile I still see good and humanity! Thank You!!!! Dave Wilson, Pal Bowl, Palmyra, Mo.

Receiving emails like this is gratifying. It is what the people of La Grange would like to see from the La Grange Police department.

PROTECT AND SERVE. Not HARASS AND ARREST.

But, while one does one good turn another does just the opposite. Just once, during a holiday or some civic function, It would be nice for the Mayor to not hide in his camper and go around and visit. Today is home coming for Culver Stockton in Canton. And guess what. Some of the people attending the home coming stayed at motels in Quincy and were dumb enough to drive through La Grange. Officer 114 hit the jackpot. Stop after Stop after Stop after Stop. All the Mayor has to do is go out for supper this evening and go to a restaurant in Canton. But, he will not like what he will hear. People ask, "What kind of nuts run the City of La Grange"?

The Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville is the best performing gaming boat in out state Missouri, according to newly released state figures. According to the state gaming commission's annual report, the Isle of Capri posted an increase of nearly $6 million during the last fiscal year.

State gaming officials say the casino's success comes from its efforts to attract new customers through special promotions. The company has given away motor homes, and hosted a concert by local star Sara Evans.

Kevin Mullally is the state gaming director. "It has to do with how you position your product, the quality of your food, what kind of other entertainment are you will to bring in, how much are you willing to spend to get customers into the door of your business. And the ones that are a little more aggressive have done better,” says Mullally.

Isle of Capri saw revenue grow by 9%, enough to offset the 4% reduction recorded at the other out-state casinos in St. Joseph and Caruthersville.

If you would take the time to go down south of the old martin Garage and drive on that street and the one by Oyster Park, you will think that the City hired a professional company to asphalt those streets. They were paved wide enough, and deep enough and flat and around the corners. If I hadn't seen the city crew there working, I would have bet Bross Construction did the street.

Yesterday morning about 7 am, I see the La Grange PD patrolling the highway to Canton and even around Canton. I thought an officer was demoted and put on probation for taking a police car out of town. I guess since the one who was demoted was doing a duty and the other was screwing off with another officer is different. Actually, I was in town for over and hour before the police car came back to town.

Then at 6am this morning a hapless driver was stopped by the LAPD and was warned for not having the license transferred from another state to this state soon enough. But, the officers of LAPD can live in Iowa and Illinois and work here and that is ok.
