The Police Committee met in session Wednesday, evening January 12, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. with Chairman Wiewel calling the meeting to order with the following persons present: Mayor Harold L. Ludwig, M. Lowe committee member, D. Burbridge committee member and Chief Baker.
Wiewel motioned to close the meeting for discussion and to review applications received for the Police dispatcher position. Discussion was held on the applications. Lowe motioned to go into open session. Burbridge second the motion. Motion carried.
Wiewel opened the session with Mayor Ludwig asking for a roll call: Lowe, Wiewel and Burbridge present, along with Chief Baker Burbridge motioned to hire Sandra Taylor for the full time position selected from the applications received. The stating wages will be of $6.75 with a .50-cent increase after probation. Mayor Ludwig stated the Council, felt they would leave the probation period up to Chief Baker since Taylor, did have experience. Lowe second the motion to hire Taylor. Chief Baker's office will take care of sending out letters of regret, saying that the applications will be kept on file up to a year, and there will possible be a part-time position opening in the future.
Having no further business or discussion before the Committee, Lowe motioned to adjourn the meeting. All present second the motion.
