RECREATION AREAS AROUND
LA GRANGE, MISSOURI
THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER
The Mississippi River runs all along the Eastern edge of the City of La Grange, from North to South. Right in the middle of the City of La Grange, Missouri there is a river front park area with a 1/4 mile long sand beach with shelter houses, park benches, barbecue grills, and two boat ramps.

There is plenty of room for numerous campers, boaters and fishermen. This area is used by recreationers all summer long. It is only 1/2 block away from restaurants, convenience store, gas station, police station, fire station, post office, doctors office and dentist office.
 

THE WYACONDA RIVER
  The Wyaconda River runs the full length of the North boundary of the City limits of La Grange, Missouri. The river offers a great place for boating, fishing, hunting and other sports. There are several areas of interest along this river such as a Lovers Leap, Devils Table, and Moss Springs. There are several times of the year when boaters can journey over 1 mile up the Wyaconda river before the water gets too shallow. Other times less than 1/2 mile can be used by boaters, but that is where the big catfish are.

THE WAKONDA STATE PARK ST

The Wakonda State Park lies just a mile or so South of the City of La Grange Missouri. There are many camping sites with water, electricity, and bath houses. On the South side is the swimming area with a concession stand. The Park has a Park ranger living on site.
