There hasn't been too much going on in town the past few days. It has been very quiet. Since the big meeting at City Hall the other day with the police officers, even they have been hard to find.
If you want to find a contractor to do something for you, I know where they are all at. They are at the Casino. When our new home was delivered, that afternoon the set up crew said they had to leave early to get more parts, but, they won't be back until tomorrow. Why, they were going to the casino for the afternoon.
A few days later, the guy to put the carpet together came, he took all his stuff inside and lo and behold he forgot the heat sealing tape. He said it would be too late to go back to Quincy and then back to do the work, he would be back tomorrow. But, not to waste the day, he went to the casino. Then the guys came to fix all the mistakes. I looked out my window at 2pm and they were leaving. The next day they came back and said they took off early to go to the casino.
The guy I hired to do my sons roof spends more time at the casino than on the roof. Had he spent the time he spent at the casino on the roof, he would have been done last week.
And now I have trouble keeping my contractor brick layer here instead of at the casino.
So, if you need a contractor to do something, look for him at the casino.

The email sent by Matt Livingston has stirred up a lot of people. Here are some emails back.
Hey Jerry, I personally enjoy reading about all the happenings in LaGrange. Please don't get discouraged by some of the illiterate people that can't spell on the computer because they did not see the little squiggly line as the last message you got in reference to your character.
Jerry: I know Matt real well. Do you want a lot of dirt on him and his family? I am enclosing a letter with a lot of it and I have more.
Mr. Brandt: Matt is a nutcase.
Jerry: If you print some of the stuff I know about my buddy Matt, he would want to sue you.

First, here is a picture of all the kids playing in the park, enjoying the new playground equipment. Look at all those bicycles of the little kids coming to the park to play, and, this has been going on for the past week or more. CLICK HERE NOW!
Before the ink was dry on the paper, a large police officer (according to the kids) came to the City park and told the kids NOT to ride their bike in the streets anymore or he would take away their bikes.
DON'T WE HAVE JUST A LOVING BUNCH OF COPS?
Doesn't the POLICE CHIEF have any decency at all? What is
wrong with the police committee chairman Elaine White? Where
is the new one (the City Administrator)? Hiding? We all know
that Mayor Lagoon is.
Well, it won't be long now. The new City Administrator is about to work on his way out the door. Rumor has it now that he is working on a City Ordinance to make it illegal to burn anything, anytime. Not trash, not limbs, not leaves, not even grass. Rumor has it that Mayor Lagoon sees this as way to get the public on his side and do away with the new one. I have to agree, that if the new one comes up with any new Ordinance, we will all know it was prepared by the Fire Chief to punish the people of La Grange and will make burning anything a capital crime.
It will be political suicide for any Councilperson to endorse any new Ordinance on burning in town. Although, most people I have talked to would like the City to post a list of items the DNR and EPA say are not burnable. But, to pass a law making criminals out the people of the town for open burning is out of the question.
Now, speaking of burning. At the last Council meeting, Officer Dixon expressed extreme distress and concern about the little smoke from a distant neighbors leaf and stick fire, or maybe Mayor Lagoon's stump fire. But, whatever, we have been informed by several emails regarding the fact that officer Dixon smokes. Rumor has it he smokes in the police car, at home, in his own vehicle and the emailers want to know know where his new born is when Officer Dixon does all this smoking. One emailer thought that all City buildings and vehicles were smoke free. Then another email brought out that the City clerk and some dispatchers stand in the doorway with the door open to smoke which lets out all the air conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. The emailer says this happens day and night and believes the City could save thousands of dollars in heat and air conditioning bills by making the employees go all way outside and close the door if they want to smoke. The emailer didn't think it was fair that the people of La Grange had to pay for the employee smoking habit. One was concerned about the resale value of city vehicles that had been tainted with the smoke smell.

It has been a long long time since I had anyone send me any hate mail. I was beginning to think that Mayor Lagoon didn't have any support hose left, but one surfaced. Actually he sent me these two emails

Mr. Brandt,
When I was recently informed of your ongoing gossip page about LaGrange, I
imediately went on-line to check it out. I have to admitt, knowing that you were the editor, I was not expecting it to be anywhere near
professonally done. I was surprised, however, to find that you surpassed all expectations that I had (no matter how low they were).Your page is filled with grammatical mistakes and sentences run together without making any sense. You were,
obviusly, educated in a Lewis County school. Here's a hint; when using Microsoft Word, the little squiggly green line underneath words or sentences means you have made a punctuational error. You seem to rattle on about issues that you have no control over. Your days of being the LaGrange Mayor are way behind you (thank the Lord). Your
sensless babble only serves to humor those who bother to read it (which, I seriously doubt, are very many people outside your immediate family). Here's an idea; Why don't you write about all of the scandals you and your family were involved in while you were in office? Some of the rumors, as I recall, were:
- Your satellite company being a front for a drug operation
- Your son having to have his stomach pumped
- Your embezzling of thousands of dollars
These are just to mention a few. As I said earlier, these were just rumors while you were in office. I have no information on there validity, or invalidity. I just think it would only be fair. I know that asking you to stop being a hypocrite would be like asking the Pope to stop preaching, but maybe you should take Michael Jackson's advice and change the man in the mirror first. Please feel free to contact me at this address anytime.
Thanks,
Long since removed LaGrange citizen
AND HERE IS IS SECOND EMAIL
Mr. Brandt,
I forgot to add 1 thing:
You are more than welcome to put my e-mail on the gossip page, but since I am
absolutly sure that you have no balls, I seriusly doubt I will see it.
I seem to have been quite good to embezzle thousands of
dollars in 7 days. Maybe that is where the 50,000 went to
that is missing at City Hall two years before I was Mayor. I
didn't think anyone would remember when my son was 6 and
drank some gasoline either. And my drug operation has been so
successful that no one else knew about it, not even all the
police officers, sheriff deputies and patrolmen and lawyers
that have been in my home/business all these years knew it,
except this jerk off. And now he has gone and told everyone.
My cover has been blown.
But, as usual, these type of emails accuse me of not being forthright, yet, they never have the guts to put up their real name, only their fake name on yahoo. I traced it back and this person is a nobody you would want to know anyhow.

THE LAPD HAD TO BACK OFF AGAIN!
After much discussion about the LAPD and the FIRE CHIEF running amuck around town writing $500.00 tickets for burning leaves, limbs or what have you, the LAPD told the Council last night that the $500.00 ticket given out by curly was dismissed.
It was later found out that POLICE LIEUTENANT ALEX DIXON who turned in the small fire. As you remember, it was POLICE LIEUTENANT ALEX DIXON who was harassing Robert Bradshaw. In discussion with Dixon after the Council meeting, he informed how truly dedicated he was to "protecting" us poor people here in town. Even though for the last 50 years we didn't need all his "protection" from ourselves.
I asked him where does it stop. Is he a DNR agent? yes. An EPA agent? yes. An enforcer of State Laws? yes. An enforcer of Federal Laws? yes. How about international law or maritime law? yes. And he is even a volunteer fireman somewhere.
Of course Councilperson Elaine White is the chairman of the police committee has totally no idea what the requirements are or what the restriction are for a simple city cop, so they run amuck. And the people of La Grange get harassed. And the Fire Chief who starts all the trouble gets away with it as he lives out of town, and gets the cops to do his dirty work for him. And Mayor Lagoon hasn't a clue.
On other Council business. AmerenUE sent a rep to tell the Council how good they have been to the people of La Grange. That AmerenUE out of the goodness of their hearts gave a 2.5% credit this summer and two more 1.5% reductions will be coming in the future. She didn't say that AmerenUE was caught overcharging us in a deal made with the MPS commission that was supposed to help the people and now they have to return the overcharges. So, no, we are just getting back what we overpaid before.
And guess what. The Council asked for bids for a new City truck. AND, they actually got bids and took the lowest bid. How white can you be?
The council voted to continue the franchise tax removal from your utility bills. Never mentioned doing away with your property taxes though.
Councilman Tim Rossiter in the above false fire matter again for the third time in as many Council meetings stood up for and fought for the people of the town. And for the THIRD time has asked the Mayor and City clerk for those missing deposit slips for the missing $50,000.00 from the Casino. AND, for the third time, there just has been enough time to pull them from the file cabinet.
But, there seems to be some reason for City Hall to want to destroy a pile of records. Could it be that the missing deposit slips are accidentally in that pile.
And get this, the Council voted to allow all those papers to be destroyed without even a glance at them. They have no idea if anything there has any historical value at all. They just said yes.
There was something about the LRO owing $1500 for tables and chairs at the LRO building the city bought. It has been hard to get it out of Susie though.
One item of interest is that the Police chief talked to the council about paying overtime to officers that may have to work because on of the (9) officers might be off because of schooling. With (9) officers, how can there be enough hours in a week to cause over time?
The Council finally fired the City Attorney and Hired Jeff Curl of Hannibal to be the City attorney. Maybe now we can get some intelligent opinions.
Tim Rossiter again spoke up for the people of the town by wanting the Council not to charge rent to the Library for its space in the new City Hall. But, good ole back thinking Griesbaum, had his doubts about the legality of this.
In regards to burning stuff in your yard. The Mayor at first was for the people, then went wishy-washy and who knows what his opinion is now. So he can tell everyone who wants to stop the burning he said he was for it and those who ask him about continuing the burning he can say he was against it.
Officer Dixon was for passing more laws for him to enforce against the people. And Ronnie Powers was for the people on this one too. The other council people kept their mouths shut.
Alex Dixons momma should be proud of her son on how he is playing Gestapo on the people of La Grange.

Did you go to the Lions Club Fish Fry Friday nite? Well, if you did, what did you think? For those of you that missed it, you didn't miss much. The fish was overly well done. The beans were so runny, you would have thought it was bean soup. No bread and butter was served, Well, until half your meal was gone and then the butter came much later. Rumor has it that the beer was flowing more than the runny beans.
NOW TO THE DUMB AND DUMBER
This evening I get a call from a police officers neighbor. It seems that the mop haired lady cop stopped and gave the lady a $500 fine ticket for burning leaves and sticks in her yard. Here is a picture I took just minutes after the ticket was issued, CLICK HERE. Do you see anything that you would consider a wood burning stove too close to a wall? Do you see a flue pipe going through a ceiling without a metal shield? Do see anyone carrying coal down the street? Do you see any fireworks going off? And lastly, do you see any hay or straw burning in the street? If see any of those conditions then the ticket should be a valid ticket, otherwise, The Ordinance the COP wrote that the lady violated is wrong. I advised the property owner to sue the Mayor and City Council and Curly for false arrest and discrimination. I asked for and received from the DNR a copy of the State laws regarding open burning. What can and cannot be burned. And I see nothing that states that this lady was violating any State or Local Law. She has a good case for a wrongful arrest lawsuit.
Sooner or later the cops or the fire chief are going to do this to someone who will take it seriously and will sue. That person should also sue the City Attorney for allowing this to happen and dumb enough to prosecute it.
Why discrimination? Well, if you look at this next picture of which I just turned around 180 degrees and took. CLICK HERE. Here is a stump being burned by a neighbor, unattended, yet, no ticket was issued. WHY? may you ask. What is the difference between a stump and leaves and sticks?
Well, let me tell you why. The lady cop (curly) had it in for the lady she gave the false ticket to, AND, if you look at the house, you will see that it is a house being resided by the mayor. So, the lady cop (curly) wouldn't give a ticket to the only mayor supporter.
I said it before and I say it again. The La Grange Police Force has turned into a LOONEY TUNES CARTOON. Just when you think the LAPD is getting along nicely, they come up with another screwball idea. It looks like we need a new police chief. The Chief we have now does not seem to be able to control the nuts.
Evidently, the La Grange City Council does not have the guts to put a stop to this renegade police department. The husband of the lady who got the ticket today went to the Mayor and was told that (he) the Mayor couldn't do anything. Why don't he put everyone out of his misery and just resign. The know nothing, do nothing dimwit.

Rumor has it today that the LAPD Chief and two Indians were scouting the "KKK" house in La Grange.
Now, for a pop quiz. Do you know who all these high school graduates are??? CLICK HERE If you guess all their names then take a look at this picture CLICK HERE

There is a TV show called Becker, and on that show he has a young secretary that is a ditz and drives him and the other secretary crazy. Well, I am here to tell you that I talked to her today on the phone. I called CenturyTel to move my phone service from our old place to our new place. After trying to explain to her that Lewis County is in Missouri and La Grange is in Lewis County and that both places are in the City and close together, it was downhill from there on.
You can not imagine in all your days all the things CenturyTel CANNOT do for you. After an hour talking to these people at CenturyTel, my head began to spin and I started to get a headache, so I just hung up and decided to just do it myself.
Did you see Mr. Bud Lane's picture in the Quincy Rag? He was in there twice a week ago. He talked about his heart attack and his love for racing. You can see Bud everyday walking around town with his dog, usually around 7:30 in the morning.
Rumor has our LAPD did a new show again. It seems that the Missouri Highway Patrol had a breakfast meeting at the Casino the other day, All the troopers were in their dress blues and looked sharp when in walked our LAPD in tennis shoes, blue jeans and an old T-shirt. But, he did have his gun and badge to keep them from taking him for a bum and throwing him out. The rumor didn't tell me whether or not more of the LAPD showed up like that or not.
But, what can you expect. Take a look at how ex-councilamn "no prayer here" dresses now, and that is the same way he dressed then. And, take a look at how Mayor Lagoon dresses for a council meeting. The days of a Council meeting meant something, now anyone can dress anyway they like and eat and drink all through the meeting like they can't do it any other time of the day.

MIDEAST OIL
I received an email regarding a boycott of Mid-East Oil. Based on the fact that most of the 911 terrorists were from Arabia, this group believes that if everyone works together we can stop the flow of money to the terrorists by not buying mid-east oil. Here is a list of oil companies that use American oil, Citgo, Sunoco, Conoco, Sinclair, and BP/Phillips. Since we in La Grange have a Casey's and a MFA Station. It was easy to find that MFA is a company that uses American oil and also a supporter of Missouri Ethanol. I had to call Casey's to get an answer. A gentleman from Casey's returned my call this morning and said this. First, he wanted me to know that Casey's is the largest purchaser of Ethanol in Iowa and Missouri. That was welcome news but he also said that they buy oil from the Williams Pipeline along with a company called KOCH, and Flint Hills. At this time I have not been able to find where they get their gas. I believe that each one of us can do our share of stopping the terrorists and by watching what we purchase, we can each help in our own way.

If you missed the Methodist Church Hog Roast last Saturday, you missed some good fixin's. So many different kinds of pie and cake... We got to see Warren Ridge who we haven't seen in a long while.
Are you a Democrat or Republican? And are you a senior citizen or close to being one? If you qualify for the second, you might want to check out the platform of Talent and Carnahan. If you want your prescription drugs with no strings attached and want it as soon as possible, look at what Talent has to say. If you want strings attached to your prescription and are willing to wait a few years and then only have it available for a limited time, look at what Carnahan has to say. AARP has info you need to read.
Well, for those who frequent the local restaurant, we are all glad to see them back open again.
A talk with the State Auditor's Office revealed information that the audit is not completely finished, in fact, they say it will at least a couple more months before they present their findings. It seems that no other town this small has taken anywhere near this long to audit. There is a pool going on again as to who will go to jail. Whereas the audit went back several years, even some past councilmen are still not out of the woods.
I know of one person in the North Ward that will run against Powers and just heard of a new one in the South Ward willing to run. And I hear another person is planning to run for Mayor, so Mayor Lagoon will definitely have a serious contender.
The new $14,000 playground equipment is about installed. I also understand that new rest room facilities will be built near the shelter house.
Does anyone know if the VP of the F&M talked to the VIP about those NAP Grants he promised. Let's see now it was about $50,000 per year as I recall. Too bad we don't have a Mayor and Council that have guts enough to sue for breach of contract.

LA GRANGE FOUNDRY WILL CLOSE IN 60 DAYS
September 12, 2002
The Chief executive of the F&M Bank and also the Pres of the La Grange Chamber of Citizens is rumored to be complaining that Mayor Lagoon reused to give the Chamber thousands of dollars for the ball park on Route C. Now, you won't believe this but, this time I am siding with Mayor Lagoon.
There are two reasons.
Reason number (1). It hasn't been too long when $14,000 was returned to the ball park association, Maybe the La Grange Chamber president from Canton should have a talk with PAVE MY DRIVE FREE. Rumor has it that he was in charge of all this money, like the money from the Project Brighter Future Organization.
Reason Number (2). We have to go way back in time. It took me awhile, but, I found the tape recording of that Council Meeting of May of 1994 when Pave My Drive Free and No Prayer Here sold out the people of La Grange again. The gambling boat franchise that night was sold out to the president of the F&M bank. The big pres had a snake in the grass lawyer stand up before the Council and said, "The big pres is offering the City a $50,000 promissory note that he would (make an application for a gaming license). That eventually was done and when the application was made, the 45 year VP promptly went to City hall and took the note back and the City didn't even get the interest off it.
BUT, The main part of the snake in the grass speech was that the Big Pres would make application for ten years for NAP Grants. Neighborhood Assistant Program grants. He said that these would be each year for around $50,000.00. They could be directed to the City, the LRO, the Chamber, the Lions club, The Ball Park Association, The Youth Center. ect.
Now, unless Susie is willing to divulge the bookkeeping publicly, the Big Pres has lied to the City and no tax grants have ever been issued, and even if some were issued, he quit doing it.
SO, in defense of Mayor Lagoon, he should have told the VP from Canton who is Vp of the CofC to go back to his Big Pres and hand out a $50,000 NAP tax grant as he promised to the City Council in May of 1994.
The Ball Park Association should be down at the Bank knocking on the VP's door demanding their NAP tax Grant, and so should the Youth Center, the Lions Club, the Boy Scouts, and any other Not-For-Profit Organization as the Big Pres Promised.
In fact, No Prayer Here and Pave My Drive Free should be doing this for the Ball Park Association as they seem to be the only supporter of the Big Pres in town.
A few years ago a couple of yuppies blew into town and bought a real nice home in town. It wasn't long after that they said to themselves, "Our place looks nice, we think everyone in town should make their place look just like ours". Then they attempted to force the rest of us to look just like them with the Mayors help. People were harassed, houses were condemned and some torn down and the owners forced to pay and pay.
Well, I just happened to drive down the alley behind their home this morning and I was shocked. Shocked to see paint peeling off their perfect home, weeds in their perfect garden, guttering missing or hanging down from their perfect house, windows fixed so no one can see in. Simple atrocious. What happened to these perfect yuppies?
September 10, 2002
Monday evening was Council Meeting night. The place was full of cops to support their brethern. But, Mayor Lagoon chickened out and didn't show. It took awhile to get around to the Cops harassing Bob Bradshaw and by the time the dust settled the cops were ordered to go to Mr. Bradshaw and tell him IT IS LEGAL for him or anyone else to ride a golf cart on City streets and that Alex Dixon, was to go to Bob and apologize for his harassment. I was surprised with the apathy of a couple of the councilpersons. One Councilman, Ronnieee Powers made the dumbest statement of the evening. It was so stupid I couldn't believe he said it. He said the Council should pass an Ordinance to ban all unlicensed motorized golf carts, lawn tractors, tractors, etc. Lieutenant Dixon tried to make everyone believe that the safety warning on a golf cart tire that states NOT FOR STREET USE, is a new law for him to say that it is illegal for that tire to be used on a golf cart on a City Street. At least a couple of Councilmen did their homework and shot down all of the lies from these police officers.
I wanted the Council to reprimand the officers who harassed Bob and also the Chief who ordered the harassment, but the Council felt sorry for the police. There is no reason on earth that a La Grange Police Officer needs to think he is a super cop and has to enforce all City Ordinances, State laws, DNR laws, EPA laws, DEA laws, ATF laws , Immigration Laws and International Laws.
The City Council should make it clear that they are Officers of the City of La Grange and that their jurisdiction ends at the City limits and that they are to enforce only those City Ordinances that are in force and no other laws of any other jurisdiction. If they encounter any other State law or Federal law being broken, then they should notify the law enforcement agency that has that jurisdiction. This insane idea of these cops taking the law into their own hands may some day lead to someone being seriously hurt or killed.
The Council hastily and in somewhat secretly passed an ordinance Monday night too. For some reason the Council didn't want anyone to know that they were passing this Ordinance until they read the title only three times real fast.
Other items that came up was that the police department wanted to destroy a huge pile of documents. The Council granted that request with any questions at all or even looking at what the documents were. There was a pile big enough to file several wheel barrels. Why?
Then, there was some questions regarding Jack Childers who has the house by the Wyaconda River. He made it into two or three apartments and the question of multiple water bills was brought up. They couldn't decide whether he was responsible for the whole water bill that was in has name only or not.
Then, they came back to the missing $50,000.00. The auditors spent months doing their audit and couldn't find where the money went, but, the City clerk said she found it and would produce deposit slips showing it was deposited. Anyone can make up a deposit slip or make a deposit for one thing be used for a deposit for another.
The Council should request the Farmers and Merchants Bank to attend a meeting a corroborate the City Clerks findings and show cause how any unsigned check to the City passed through the bank.
Actually, the Mayor at this time, since it has been almost three months without a satisfactory answer, maybe he should contact the Missouri Highway Patrol to investigate. Or maybe he doesn't want that to happen. Maybe the investigation should call in the officers of the La Grange Revitalization Organization and ask them. One day it was $100,000 and a few months later the figure changed to $50,000.00. Maybe someone should question pave my drive free or no prayer here or maybe even 45 years and more. It was all pretty cozy back then, the LRO, the bank, the mayor, some councilmen, project brighter future, a Caribbean cruise.

RUMORS RUMORS & MORE RUMORS
Rumor has it around town that the upstairs part of City Hall has turned into a looney bin. Rumor has it that the Chief who comes in every day and sits around for awhile has on his own now declared it illegal to ride a golf cart on any City Street and the Police Lieutenant has fallen off the log of common sense with him. Rumor has it that the Chief and the Lieutenant cannot tell the difference between a 4 wheeler and a golf cart and a motorcycle and a bicycle. There is also a rumor that the Chief will declare that all riding lawnmowers will be banned from City streets and cannot be moved on any street without a police escort. It is also rumored that Mayor Lagoon has given the Chief his full blessing on this matter. Once all golf carts, riding mowers are banned then the Chief is rumored to start a ban on bicycles and continue on until he has banned tractors and people walking the streets.
So far it seems to be working with the insane harassment by the Police Chief and Police Lieutenant of Robert Bradshaw. Give Bob a call and let him tell you what they did to him. It could be you next. People are calling each other and me and emailing me wanting to know why the City Council is allowing this insane harassment of long times residents of La Grange. Maybe an answer will come out at the Council meeting and Mayor Lagoon will tell us all how he and the Police Chief are trying to create a Stalag of La Grange. I have also had a lot of people contact me wanting to know how and if a citizen protest of the Mayor and Council can be beneficial.
On a different note, there is a rumor that someone has sold his commercial building and his home and moved to Quincy. Rumor around from neighbors is that they really wanted to be neighborly and help him move. Rumor has it that when several people found out a condominium was purchased, they all wanted to send sympathy letters to all the other condominium owners. Rumor also has it that within a year, the other condominiums will be willing to sell out at half price. Bear in mind that this all rumor and speculation and in no means to demean or disparage anyone living or dead.
Years ago many people made comments about La Grange as being a little Peyton Place, now we can start referring to a Grange the looney bin.

Prayer For Peace
Last night the La Grange Community Youth Center held a Prayer for peace with all the Churches from La Grange being Represented. Each of the preachers came forward and talked about Peace. Colby Combs was there and spoke twice. I really liked the one from the Lutheran Preacher. I am sorry to see him leave. The were a lot of caring people from La Grange there. Several members of the La Grange Police Department were there as well as some Firemen. They along with some Veterans were honored. I took several pictures and will post a web page for this occasion later. When you see something like this you know that a lot of people who live in La Grange care about the kids, their town, their community and their Country.
But, what I didn't see is what is disturbing. I didn't see the Mayor, the City Administrator, The Police Chief, and The Fire Chief. AND, I didn't see one single Councilperson. And you wonder why.
And now on to a more pressing subject. I heard a rumor yesterday that the La Grange Police Department sat and waited for Ole Bob Bradshaw to start to town on his golf cart. I heard that they stopped him twice and for some dumb reason, made him get off his golf cart and wanted him to read the lettering on the golf cart tire. Maybe they thought they could get him for drunk driving? But, I heard that ole Bob Bradshaw was told to stop riding his golf cart to town to visit. This has been a terrible blow to Bob. He didn't do it often and he stayed on the back streets and alleys and was very careful crossing main street to get to the White House to visit with everyone. What does the City Administration want him to do? Just want him to stay home and die off? I think that the Police Officer who trapped Bob should go to his home, and offer his most sincere apology and offer to escort Bob to town whenever he wants to go. But, only an Honorable police officer will ever do such a thing. His momma ought to be a very proud person.
WHAT ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH ARE THE POLICE OFFICERS TRYING TO DO? I thought we got rid of Baker and now it looks like he just changed sizes.
WHERE IN THE HELL IS THE MAYOR? THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR? AND THE CITY COUNCIL?
Doesn't anyone have the guts to put a STOP to this insane madness going on with the La Grange Police Department? Rumor has it the Police Chief is trying to figure a way to stop people from riding their riding mowers from one place to another on the City streets. What next? Farm Tractors? Bicycles? Then Walkers?
Rumor has it that this all started because a relative of a high ranking City Employee was stopped by the police riding around her neighborhood with a motorized utility cart with her kids in the back, so the High Ranking City official relative threw her weight around and ordered the Police Chief to harass Bob Bradshaw. Madness, Simple Madness going on in City Hall and the Police department. Why on earth don't the Police Officers try to protect and help people instead of this constant, never ending harassment? It seems we have too many simple minds with nothing to do, so they harass who ever they can. Maybe, just Maybe, we can get a NEW MAYOR that will end all this stupidity in the Police Department. But, it doesn't look promising for any of the present Council people to make the run if they can't stop all this madness as a Council person.

This week has been a very dull week around La Grange. I have received some interesting emails regarding my operation and the police.
First, there are a lot of emails complaining about the police radar trapping people at the old Imperial Station constantly. They sit on the North bound side with their radar set so that just as soon as you pass the 40mph sign coming into town, 2 seconds later around the curve, they got you. Watch out! I had one customer say to me that the police should be out by the highway on C and south of town and giving each casino customer a police escort into town instead of running the business out of town. Well, maybe a new mayor will put a stop to all this.
Rumor has it that there is something brewing at City Hall.
Hi Jerry,
This is a e-mail for the gossip page.
Everyone is invited to attend the Prayers For Peace - United We Stand Service at the La Grange Community Youth Center, 405 West Jefferson, in La Grange, this Friday at 7:00 p.m. The area churches will be involved as well as others. We will be remembering our past, thankful for the present, and praying for our future.
We will also take pride in honoring those that are our heroes, the law enforcement, firefighters, and our
military. It will be a evening that will touch everyone's hearts, and make them very proud. We will end the evening with refreshments and fellowship. This is one meeting that the community and surrounding area is asked to come together - United We Stand / Divided We Fall. If there are any questions or anyone would like to take part, please call Betty. Looking forward to seeing everyone Friday night.
Now, about my operation. I went to Missouri University on the 19th, operated on, on the 20th and came home on the 23rd. They took the whole right kidney and the cyst/tumor. No, it was not cancerous. But, I lost 10 pounds.
I received an email on my internet computer. The email was spam about lower loan rate or something. There was a place to go to, to opt out of receiving the spam. I clicked on that and my screen flashed and went to the site. There was a place to enter the email address which I did and then click to send. The screen flashed again. No problem. I went on with the other emails and quit. Later that evening a storm came up and I turned off the computer. The next morning when I turned it on, it didn't work. Whatever it was wiped out windows. Made another windows directory with a bunch of files. I tired to format the hard drive and it made it an 8 gigabyte instead of a 40 gigabyte. The virus went clear into the main board operating system. I had to remove the battery from the main board to be able to start completely over. It even went right past Norton Anti-virus.
The moral to this story is. DO NOT try to reply or remove or opt out of any spam you get. DELETE IT. If you are not running some kind of virus protector, the KLEZ virus will drive you crazy. Even if you have an anti-virus, it still keeps coming at you.

Some people get pretty testy when this page isn't updated as often as they think it should. Well, things have been pretty quiet around town except for the number of funerals of long time residents.
One emailer questioned me about me putting on about my operation but sidestepped the Mayors. Well, rumor has it that mine wasn't as bad as his. I won't be able to get on Social Security Disability with mine, and still be able to go out and work too.
The City has purchased a whole lot of stuff for the City Park. The other day a tractor-trailer load of big plastic tubes and climbing things worth over $10,000 were delivered to be set up in the park for the little ones. Also, there is supposed to be a skate board setup coming and there will be restrooms built in the park.
According to the Canton paper, the City will be spending around $40,000 plus to remodel the new City Hall, which is the LRO building the people donated to, to be used as a community center. I kinda of thought it was stupid to buy a new building and then spend a lot of money to remodel it. That is until we got our new home. By the time my wife gets done remodeling it, it will be past Thanksgiving before I can move in. Maybe Christmas. Its scary. CLICK HERE
One emailer noticed that the Daughtery's were shoving kids out the door right and left. Harley knows how to clean house.
The La Grange police report shows that Charles Wernowsky 56, paid a fine for littering some woman's property. Steve Allen paid a fine of $222.00 for unlawful accumulation of debris. I tried to find these in the City ordinances and couldn't. So who knows where the Police, City Attorney and Judge came up with these charges. I guess they just make them up as they go along. Dennis Meehan of La grange, dog at large $49.50. I found that Ordinance. Terry Tasco, paid a $47.50 fine for failure to wear required head gear. I couldn't find that Ordinance either.
Welcome to the Kangaroo Court of the Midwest.
