Hello, 

My name is Ron Welch. I was from the Centerville IA area. I was wondering if you had found some
information about your family that might help me out. My Grandfather was Braint or Buford &
Sims or Simms (Dick) Welch. He lived in Centerville IA for 45 year. He retired as a barber. His
parents were William & Sarah M. (Waggener) Welch. Married 14 March 1876, Lewis MO. Dick was
born in July 4, 1881 in Marceline MO, & died 1957 in Centerville IA. His parents were from
Marceline MO. Dick had one brother Rufford B Welch of McAllister OK, and two half sisters Mrs.
Grace Adair of Huntington Park CA, & Mrs. Rachael Peckham of Marceline MO. He had two
children by his first wife (don't know the wife’s name), Miss Esther Welch of Exline & Ted Welch of
Exline IA. His second wife was Olive True Billington (born Oct 7, 1912, died Apr 3, 1988). (Olive's
parents were Riley & Goldie True, from Centerville). Dick & Olive were married in 1931. They had 6
children. Dixie Keeney Stewart of Moline IL, LaRue Roes of East Moline IL, June Cochran of
Mystic IA, Richard of Silvis IL, Dean Burdell of East Moline IL, (which is my father) & James of
East Moline IL. This was Olive's second marriage. Her first husband was Claude E. Billington. They
had two children, Eugene C. Billington & Mary Evelyn Doud (husband Glen Doud). Her third
husband was John Kozeliski (born Dec 18 1912, died Dec 18, 1988). They were married in Dec 12,
1959.
